Isn't that the risk with every share lol...at least for new buyer this risk is reduced and offer of 2.77 at least, which is still 20% profit from these levels!

It's a huge risk to buy this at 2.2p in the hope of getting 2.7p back later. Firstly, it'll take several months. Secondly, there is a good chance that something will go wrong and the offer will never be made.
Not good investment odds at all.
As for those thinking they'll get more than 2.7p, I don't really know what to say, except you're wrong.
Why Dan Betts hasn't resigned yet is beyond me. The man has no shame.

I'm surprised Betts is still on the payroll. I'm surprised he wasn't booted out first... I've been in and out of this for 10 years+ and half not been in for sometime

Coming at this late.
My last post was that a raise at 5p was the very best shareholders could hope for. It turned out worse than that, of course. Still 2.6p is 2.6p more than it might have been; IMO Coris have been generous to shareholders here.
Dan Betts is not a competent and honest manager (to use Buffett's phrasing) and should never be let near a position of any responsibility again in his life. This is on him. I remain convinced that if HUM had been managed by a competent and honest and experienced mining professional the situation here would be very different. But it wasn't. Really, it was the story of Broken Hill way back when that said it all for me. How he survived that scandal is a disgrace the other board members share.
I hope everybody does realise that 2.6p is the most they can hope for from this situation now. And that there is a real chance that they won't even get that much.

Taking losses comes with experience chesty. you either have cut or trade your averages down to reduces your losses over time... The latter requires knowing how long you have and sticking to it religiously.

Not a very nice post was it? Nobody deserves that kind of rhetoric!

Infinity888, the purpose of the resolution for a Rule 9 waiver, is to get round the issue of having to bid at the highest price paid prior to making an offer (mandatory or otherwise). So sadly no chance of getting anywhere near 11p.

yes unfortunately the warnings of incompetence were there not that it makes it any less bitter.

One warning in particular that struck my mind is when Bett's private family gold refinery caught fire and much of it was destroyed. My thoughts/worries then were - if these guys can't even properly manage a business they own how are they supposed to manage competently a company they are managing (but which they don't own so less vested interest)

Cinoib. I said it many times. I guess this is what you get for putting someone with zero experience (apart from the fact that Daddy has a precious metals business) in charge? Perhaps trader465s posts and documentary evidence hit the nail squarely on the head? I guess we'll find out eventually?

Gentlemen. I'm not gloating because I don't like to see anyone lose in the SM. BUT, I did tell you all about this because I knew those that knew what was going on here.

This was all reported and I think it is highly possible that those responsible for this outrageous fiasco already know their days are numbered. Lets all hope they will be brought to task as they should be.
