And of course, (apart from Skiing,) Dan loves to spend some of his annual $742,000 salary (20% increase in 2019 for doing a good job) by skimming over the rain-forest in a helicopter and he also loves to fish in remote areas of Russia.

Just to add we should all watch out for changes to AIM investment rules in the upcoming budget. In particular, will the government take away the death tax exemption for AIM stocks?
If this is removed, this may have a pretty big effect on the entire AIM market. I've seen an estimate that c. 10% of money will leave the market leading to a c. 25% fall in stock values.
Anyway, that's Wednesday...

Laurence. I think I can answer that? It's a safe bet that "what news you will get" this week will be the same as all the other "news" for the last seven years? Don't hold your breath.

#DB, interesting that Barrick are digging their heels in, ultimately the Gov can revoke mining permits, but could they find a better operator..? We need to get some out of the ground 1st, and PDQ to start hitting the debt pile..Q3 update this week and Q4 outlook, been a long time coming to get our hands on the numbers but hoping we have finally turned a corner now the rainy season is closing again over October..See what we get for news this week..

I'm not sure the pygmy hippos will thank Hummingbird for destroying their habitat if the mine in Liberia is ever built! (Not that it will be...)

aim999 Looking after pygmy hippos and chickens is waaaaaaay beyond Del Boys capabilities. He should have stuck to skiing, I hear he is quite good at that.

if you read this morning Hocschild Mining RNS of how they're ramping up their Mara Rosa mine you will realise what a pathetic job these lot have done.

'Mara Rosa production in September at 9,000 ounces of gold with a strong Q4 expected'

I think they started building this mine around 6 months if not more after Hum had started theirs.

If I were to speculate I'd say:
Yanfolila will probably have low production.

A lot now rests on Kouroussa but they still haven't announced commercial production there.

Their work with The Pygmy Hippo Foundation seems far more successful than gold mining.

Farrugia I agree 100% with what you say here. DB has got away with doing a Pi$$ poor job for years and been paid handsomely for doing it.

But I'm pleased to say that everything is being looked into by the FCA now so something is being done about it. Should have happened years ago IMO. This obviously may prompt a drop in the share price but so what? It has been abysmal for long enough, let's all find out why.

The problem is the sky-high debt and the fact that Hum has slipped on banana skins for years. The issue for me is management - they should have been fired long ago. Dan has been replaced but he's still chairman I believe?

there are better and less risky plays than this - Altyn Gold, Cerrado Gold, Steppe Gold, Goldplat, Anglo Asian Mining even Thor Explorations, Elemental Altus Royalties (royalty company), Fresnillo, Fortuna Mining - I'm in good size in all these and they are all solid producers except Elemental which is a gold royalty company that I believe is undervalued.

Infinity888 You really do have a bizarre way of looking at things. Your recent flurry of completely delusional posts on here in the last few hours says it all. If there was any potential here, after seven years, why so much massive debt? Hum?

Here are some hard facts for you. There were plenty of "big whales" investing here seven years ago when this was at 40p and gold was at $1,200. They ALL lost big time. ALL OF THEM. And they were ALL of the opinion that they had been well and truly shafted. Now you are excited because you believe the share price may get back to 20 p? Still a 50% LOSS in seven years? With gold at record highs? How exciting!!!!!! What a complete delusional idiot you must be.

And look at the share price in the last few hours. Back to the normal, abysmal, outrageous performance that we all know. Perhaps you should learn to keep your mouth shut? The market knows this is a no-hope dog.

B.T. my Paf is doing the business just now up 160% this year to date, but was low on cash so only have a few, but not complaining is pulling back losses on others.

Careful, infinity, you'll cream your pants.Where's the evidence that Kouroussa is finally commercial? Just because some poster on lse says it is so don't make it so.However the trades don't lie. Someone thinks they know something - I just hope they are right for once.
