Don't think HUM is that paranoidedly or in-depth analysed by "the market" or anyone holding enough stock to move the dial. The only take away of the last week is that HUM held up fairly well when most other gold miners were being hammered.

People are twitchy about any news about violence in Mali and with good reason. The next RNS should further strengthen the fundamentals and provide solid support to the shareprice. Hopefully.

100% both are not a problem. HUM have been questioned as to why no update and confirmed all is on track and also that they intend to update quarterly. Plus AMS released an update to say that they were back to fully operational at Komana. Dissaponting HUM didn’t think this was worthy of an update, but we should take no news as good news I guess.

The market may be marking this down because of the fact that we have not had an update for the month of May on gold pour.
I know they want to go to quarterly reporting. But they have not said that is what they were going to do. So the market will take it as uncertainty as to why no update.
Throw in the security problem with no update, they are always going to mark it down or flat.
I see both as not being a problem and will buy more if they drop the price more.

Q1 results should be a pivotal moment. When we get cost data and hopefully +30koz of production. If everything is on track and the mine is as profitable as we all hope the share price should easily be on its way to 50p.

Thanks for that CC. Yes there are plenty of examples of unloved shares coming good, and HUM has all of the attributes to join that group. Assuming the wheels don’t come off, it defies logic that a company churning out $60m+ free cash a year can stay down here.

chris - that's what I did with Hothschild. They were unloved, I bought at 42p and they went to 3 quid in a year. Not saying this will do the same but I know one thing for sure - it should be higher than this. The market will soon wake up when the figures keep rolling in with improvement and consistency.

Lets hope for a drop in gold to 1250 and build from there.

Its painful to watch investments go down but long-term this company has great potential.

I will add under 30 and every 3p down from there. Maybe a spike to 26p but probably 5% chance.

Redtrend, on the Greenville port, a road was recently paved and the facility itself has started receiving larger ships, which seem to be carrying construction equipment and supplies

hxxps://www.liberianobserver.com/news/greenville-port-meets-isps-compliance/

the reason for these building materials?

hxxps://www.liberianobserver.com/news/pres-weah-submits-us536m-loan-agreement-for-ratification-2/

one of the major roads that Weah wants to build in in that area connecting Buchanan-Cestos City-Greenville-Barclayville

All positive news, but ratification should really be just a formality. The MDA was agreed and signed by HUM and GoL back in July 2015. However whether this portends to a bottle-neck being removed and a flurry of bigger news on its way, some out of HUM's control, fingers crossed:

a) HUM control: an updated, optimised DFS, which hopefully may surprise/ wake up a fair few people. Most interesting will be whether both Capex and AISC have been optimised. They also need to start doing an ESIA asap.

b) Road Infrastructure: Dugbe is only 40km from Greenville which has deepwater port. So key point is that a port is already in place close by and large heavy machinery and construction materials, building modules, plant etc. can be shipped in very close to site. However roads from port to Dugbe province need to be fit for purpose.

c) Hydro-Electric Plant (HEP): Since the earlier HUM Pre-liminary Economic Assessment (PEA) in 2013, a substantial amount of work has been done on the feasibility of HEP for both the mine requirements and region as a whole. This would significantly lower Opex costs and AISC over the course of the Life of Mine (roughly 1/3 of Opex costs are for fuel), but of course it will increase front-end Capex dramatically. This has been led and funded so far by the IFC (a financial branch of the World Bank). The last study released by HUM (Sept 2015) showed a number of options, the most expensive for a 30MW capacity plant being $170m. If HUM could get favourable loan financing through IFC for their portion of the costs (whatever they agree), with the rest funded by the Government through a loan by IFC, all Parties could be on to a winner.

For a 20yr 125,000 Oz operation, the PEA stated a Capex of $212million (3.5Mtpa Tank Leach Plant). That was at a pretty rich operating cost of $904oz, so AISC would be well over $1,000. However since then resources increased, average grades increased, potential for HEP reducing Opex and the more detailed DFS will no doubt find further optimisations in both Capex & Opex.

Mr. Singbeh said the second reading of the Bill constituted the third and final, and that the Bill was adopted, passed into law, ordered and engrossed.

Hummingbird, a gold mining company, will be operating in Maryland, Grand Kru, Sinoe and River Gee Counties, because the Columbite-tantalite known as Coltan gold has been discovered in those counties.

On the ratification of the MDA for gold in the Southeast which also contains areas where a mineral resource, possibly columbite-tantalite (otherwise known as coltan) has recently been discovered, “the Senate wishes to assure the public that over the next ten(10) years, the Government will accelerate the assessment, appraisal and sustainable development and management of its mineral resource base and other natural resources to improve the lives of its people, especially the rural dwellers and service these loans which have been obtained. ”

This is what I asked the company - saying it was material news and should have an RNS. The full response confirmed there were steps to complete, and to please accept their response over the words of a journalist - fake news maybe. But hopefully you are right and the rest is just a formality.

Not yet passed into law? The last paragraph of that gold panda link says it is' It says 'On Motion, the bill was taken from the committee room for its second reading, on motion, under the suspension of the rule, the second reading of the bill constituted its third and final reading, in which the bill was adopted, passed into the full force of the law and ordered engrossed on Monday, June 12, 2018.' It would appear that the rest is merely a formality (imho)

Asked the company about this and they stated

“There are more steps to go through before it’s an act of law and completed. The legislature has not yet approved and the President has not yet re signed which both need to happen.“

IMHO something happening behind the scenes here. HUM team currently in Liberia, Liberian gvmt sent a delegation to Mali in April and this looks to have been pushed through the senate as a “special topic”..... big announcement in the next few weeks/months I feel. Let’s see.
