Jez, whatever the case it seems a good move north is on the cards...

Looking closely at the rest of the sector.

agree penycae - the only fly in the ointment is another friday afternoon
sell off, as has been the case a few times recently.....

but I am quietly confident.

Penycae, I think the 6month chart comparison says it all, the other major banks have all ticked up quite nicely. Seems HSBA is trailing behind so a little run up to £10.00 would be welcome. We hope not to regret it.

Re-bought at 926.5. Might regret it, but you've got to take one day at a time. Worried about a general sell off this afternoon.

Hoping for a generally good bull run before the xmas break -
if this doesn't stay blue when the FTSE is approaching a six year high
I will just give up.....

Long again, looking for £9.60, charts are indicating a turn.

Jez if and when this breaks 9.30 then to 9.45 is probable.

the one graph that keeps me from selling is the one above that shows
comparison across the 6 months bank comparison.... just look at the *huge*
difference (20% between BARC and HSBA)!! HSBA is on the floor relative to its peers, and I know that the dollar is weak, but this is ridiculous!

this is consistently bouncing off about 915... I am hoping that
when all the selling pressure finally clears we might make some
real headway.

diku - I hold 'em all, BP, HSBA and GSK!. Most of the problems are dollar based. They should all rally as and when the dollar strengthens.

Notice today that very unusual for BP. , HSBA , GSK all three mega FTSE stocks finished minus 1...despite of the index up... it looks like there is more action in the smaller FTSE 100 stocks...
