Well I bought and sold for a small profit. Could be something here but phoenix may as well have bought the co. Surely this shouldn't even be listed.

Looked into these in more detail, not sure how investable they are with Phoenix owning that much of the shares?

Last rescue raiseD funds putting Phoenix in even deeper than they already were .

Its a profitable business run properly , back in 2008 they had eight million in tne bank , this is where it went really wrong and something the programme failed to delve into . They blew most of it buying Corgi , who were going bust at the time , rather than wait and pick up the pieces they wrote the cheque , at the same time the opportunity to buy their production factory in China arose , they didnt and their main competitor bought it instead , Q years of problems compounded by loonies in the management asylum .

Directors have purchased a fair few so its in their interests to turn things around. How are they cash positive? Did they have a rights issue or sell some land previously?

Yes, I wonder what proportion of annual sales results from orders made in the first two weeks after launch... and whether it was actually double last year...or say 1.8x or perhaps 2.2x.

Whatever, I guess they needed a good ending for the documentary but strange HRN did not also formally update the market on this or the value destruction on the mould front (or have they done this previously).

The bit in the first programme about previous management putting many train moulds, each costing circa £100k, in a skip sounded unbelievably incompetent.

Thank you Nick. I'll watch it after work. If doubling of orders is true, then the share price should break out of the 3-year range pretty sharpish.

Where did you hear this? Is the programme still available?

I am wondering how they can note on a TV programme that they have taken in double the value of orders from last year but not actually bother to have a sales update to the market .

Have to say it is more a 'love thing' than money. Life is more than lowly investment.

But wish the company well and healthy profits

The perfect model Railway. 15,000 people expected to attend the show that is starting today.

Being half asleep I posted this on another thread rather than the main one here , just for info really .

I suspect there are a couple of reasons for no update so far , one the cost base has been reduced to such an extent that there are not sufficient bodies to take care of the admin, which has co-incided with an increase in volume of orders because of reversion to inviting customers down to Margate and input from the various annual trade toy fairs.

But HOLTS are the changes sufficient to return the company to profitability?
Thanks.

Any hint of positive outlook in the trading update would trigger a breakout from 3-year base.

Seems like that there has been a buyer of late that is happy to pick up stock at 32/32.6p - maybe the company will update the market shortly.

I still can't see any point in ever investing in these, the shares will never be worth even the current price and that's if they recover.

Why not radio controlled 00 gauge? Must be a lot easier these days. It would make garden lay outs easier.
