That makes it a little more interesting. Keeps teasing this one though. Shows abit of leg up to about 103 and then the sellers come in and hit it back down to 100. Nonetheless, keeping an eye on it for a breakout.

Setting up for a take two here.

Enormous buyers at £1. Surely they're going to exhaust the sellers at that level. Chart keeps bouncing off there.

Still high risk and short term speculative trade option but this market is bonkers bullish so surely even stocks like this have a chance.

But as always do what works for you and have stop with stocks like these.

EDIT as we go into the closing auction:

Major ding dong going on here at £1 so the break could be significant. Hard to call who wins it, but you'd have thought the bulls in this bullish environment.

No. The stock is now up 5.3%.

It was a very peculiar move which was why I highlighted it. Looks like an illiquid early move in hindsight now.

More buying coming in now and the chart is bouncing so hopefully it can push on from here.

Nibbled a few. Looks like very strong support on the chart down here and someone has been happy to pick up 1.7m and another 550k at 100.

Stock is up 3%. If it can push on here from, could see a nice bounce the way this one has moved in the past (normally waving me bye ha).

Ditto. Been following this one a few months. But the recent placing put a bit of a caveat on this one. Interesting to see where the price breaks from here.

EBITDA can mean whatever you want it to mean. It does not mean the operation is cash positive or neutral. (I)nterest is a cash outgoing. (E)arnings are not net of capitalised investment, but (D)epreciation and (A)mortisation are the cash outgoings relating to the capitalised investment of previous years. So EBITDA breakeven does not mean you don't need cash to keep going. And often companies report 'adjusted' EBITDA in order to remove even more ('exceptional') outgoings from the headline earnings.

There are good reasons why the statutory figures are statutory!

I also read this as negative. Directors think it sensible to issue shares at 102p to raise £7m, when you claim to have £18m in the bank, are meant to be operating at around EBITDA breakeven and have identified £8-10m of savings / projects that can be deferred. Doesn't add up to me.

Increasingly feels like shareholders are being asked to fund the employee wage bill, without any real prospect of a return for the foreseeable future.

Disappointed with some of the detail withheld from the Placing literature:

1. Up to date Cash position (rather than 31/12/19).

2. How is the Diagnostics business performing.

Suspect this was more of a keep the lights on placing than anything else, I expect the price to head lower into the 80's without any further info.

Quite so. Sounds like a gift to the lucky few (though it could backfire) or desperation.

"The Company has successfully placed 6,764,365 Placing Shares at a price of 102 pence per share (the "Placing Price"), raising gross proceeds of £6.9 million. The Placing Price represents a discount of 20.6 per cent. to the closing middle market price on 16 April 2020 of 128.5 pence per share, being the last practicable trading day prior to release of the Announcement of the Placing. The net proceeds of the Placing will be used to strengthen the Group's balance sheet, working capital and liquidity position, which will allow Horizon to continue its investment in strategic projects including commercialising its base editing technology, e-commerce enhancements and its collaboration with Mammoth Biosciences.

The Placing was oversubscribed with the book comprising of US, UK and international existing and new shareholders. Numis acted as Financial Adviser, Nominated Adviser and sole Broker to the Company in relation to the Placing."

I wonder who the "new shareholders" were. All happened remarkably quickly. Let's see what happens to the share price Hollywood's went up.

I have just checked HB's notice about their placement and it also refers to an accelerated book process but it gave a price, though having read Sound Buy's link to that, I don't understand how they could have one at that stage.

Thanks for the link, SoundBuy. Quite an education. When Hollywood Bowl did a placing the other day it was at a fixed price. The share price is above that now, or was when I last looked a couple of hours or so ago.

Personally think that if it secures finances for the future it's a good thing plus there is the dual listing to look forward too.
