The last of the Woodford stake finally finding a home?

The results don't give the feeling of a company about to hit the incremental growth phase that will trigger a fundamental reappraisal of the stock; but equally it has now reached a size / maturity that means it is self-funding. It looks more and more like a company waiting to be acquired, especially if its e-commerce platform really works in the way the results describe (note Abcam wrote-off a large chunk of capex on their one).

We getting results/update Monday?... does recent share price suggest anything?

Worst performance in my pot by a long way! Luckily my bigger pots are fairing better.

More likely to be to do with the Woodford shenanigans, wouldn't you think? Didn't he sell all his fund's holding?

Is this recent poor performance all down to brexit uncertainty? Valueact must be well under on this one..

When Woodford has finally sold out as much as he is going to - and not sure he has yet, and his holding is down to 5% of the company the latest I heard from earlier this month - it'll be time to jump in to buy more at the depressed price that will then be in effect. I'm watching it closely.

Cannot see celyad merging with Horizon they only have enough cash to see them through to 2020. More like Abcam at some time after horizon post a good profit.

I thought I had read that he had sold all his HZD shares. Apols. if mistaken.

I think Woodie still has a stash left - quite frankly if he sold now it would be a boost to the share price. There has still been no RNS as to where a large proportion of his recent sales have ended up - only that ValueAct had a top up but this does not account for all Woodford sales.

The thing is that you can easily see a merger with the likes of Celyad or Abcam coming back or Softbank adding the company to the healthcare part of their vast fund.

It ought to be an exciting ride.

Woodie will be cross he has had to offload all his holding.

Onwards and upwards! Apart from the financial aspect, it's good to know strides are being made towards successful therapies for hitherto incurable illnesses.

I thought the Woodforde fire sale would depress the price more than it has

The RNS relates to all the huge trades done on Friday.

It is not ValueAct who have bought otherwise they too would have had to release an RNS.

Whoever it is has yet to cross the 5% threshold at which point an RNS is required.

My take is that, just as they did with Merlin Entertainments, ValueAct will help in flushing out a bidder who knows that, at the right price, there is a 20%+ holding available.

Potentially very exciting times ahead.

;o)

Woodford now at 0%. So overhang all gone. Not all trades showing but looks to have been selling around 155p while buyer/s taking them at around 160p.

Woodford is now under 5% from 7.7% latest filing. An equivalent buyer has not been identified.

Yes, that's correct but I don't know who bought or whether it was in the auction. WCPT was down further but HZD was up about 5%. I can't think why the HZD shares weren't held in WPCT rather than an income fund when they don't pay any dividend.
