21/12/2012 16:10 | I have held for 3 years plus been even I have to say this company is dead. There seems no will to survive, with a gradual sell off of it's assets and no prospect of a return to growth. Find it incredible the Directors have got it so terribly wrong. Or maybe I don't !! | john148
21/12/2012 16:03 | Considering it's a dry day my local HMV is not that busy, no one needing to queue with only 3 tills open. Last weekend end at best it was busy when 3 years ago it would have been packed and 5 years ago absolutely full to the gunnels, bursting at the seams. | loganair
21/12/2012 10:11 | https://twitter.com/ Long queues, but the store looked quiet in the photo https://twitter.com/ Long queues. They 'appear' to be ramping up turnover.... These are just a few tweets with photos, there are numerous other tweets of long queues. Also on deals, 2 box sets one half price, also £2.99 for Xmas DVDs, if you buy another item. I guess the question has to be, any margin? Not that it matters short term because when they report they will just report turnover ,i.e. LfL sales, not profit on sales. | graham2405
21/12/2012 09:17 | "a 20-something Sales Assistant in a santa hat, walking up and down the Noah's Ark-like queue that stretched from the tills at the front to the vinyl section at the back. He was offering the customers sweets in a bid to make them stay." I heard this on Twitter, they were apparently handing out Starbursts. I also heard that the queues were in part caused by punters buying the Hillsborough charity single. Selling very well apparently...... Unfortunately there's not a lot of profit in charity singles. | graham2405
21/12/2012 09:12 | Breaking News..... "The unfortunate fact remains that HMV's proposition has become increasingly irrelevant in the modern retail landscape." priceless | graham2405
21/12/2012 08:58 | "I doesn't take a rocket scientist to take an educated guess"-Educated,are you sure? "So far you would have done well to listen to me."-As you have posted that hmv will fail regarding shareholder value on every thread on every BB over the last few weeks it's been very hard not to listen to you. If hmv turn things around regarding shareholder interest then the FSA will no doubt be knocking on your door me thinks. | totally banjo
21/12/2012 08:30 | PS I'm planning to get the fat lady singing 'Just one cornetto' to me while your down at the benefit office, monty. | brando69
21/12/2012 08:29 | montyhedge, you probably cleared the place with your BO... so I don't think that counts as control conditions. | brando69
21/12/2012 07:51 | They surely have to suspended, until we know if the banks will pull the plug. Went into HMV yesterday for research, the tills where not ringing very much. Henderson rns yesterday reducing holding, | montyhedge

20/12/2012 21:54 | "Yesterday? Thought it was Tuesday...." Totally Banjo My error, you are indeed correct the partial closure of the CFD was on Tuesday, not Wednesday, which could mean they continued selling on Wednesday and Thursday. I assume that further notifications are in the pipeline, as they have rather a large holding to dispose of. In short, they took a bet on the reported figures, they appear to be closing that bet at quite a loss. | graham2405
20/12/2012 21:31 | 2013: even more mobile music to come 2012 has been a great year at 7digital, and mobile in particular has been a standout area of change and growth. We've seen a 277% increase in our mobile user base, with 67% of downloads now coming though tablets and phones. We added a Windows Phone app to our mobile line up, and watched our Android install base surpass the 4 million mark. It's not just digital music that's seeing this growth; ebooks, magazines, newspapers, and TV and movies are all continuing to attract attention from readers, listeners and viewers. New mobile and connected devices have driven this, in part, and as more devices come to market, it becomes increasingly important to enable access to a user's content on multiple devices. Right now you may have a music collection on your PC and need to get it to a smartphone or MP3 player. It won't be long until you also want access to the same collection in the car, on your connected TV and even your fridge. The music industry is guilty of getting hung-up on the wrong debate; that of access vs ownership. Subscription services are often labelled as 'access', but in reality they are 'rental' services. Once you stop paying the monthly subscription, you lose your carefully curated collection. As mobile and connected device growth continues in 2013 on beyond, the right levels of access to digital content you own will be the winning combination. Next up, our top selling tracks and albums for 2012... This entry was posted on Thursday, December 20th, 2012 at 2:18 pm and is filed under Apps, B2C services, Mobile. 20/12/2012 18:57 | They own 35% of 7 digital following dilution - was origianlly 50% i believe | g.j.a
20/12/2012 18:23 | Do HMV still own half of 7digital? I still think a Samsung takeover is a no brainer! | zcaprd7

The question is, were they selling again today? We'll find out on Friday." Yesterday? Thought it was Tuesday.... | totally banjo
20/12/2012 17:14 | graham Looks like 34m still to be sold then if they continue, I just can't see at the year end meeting, how they can justify having this in their portfolio. | montyhedge |
