11/5/2006 09:37 | well shes pulling back now | noiseboy
11/5/2006 09:34 | NJP - I think their investment funds is a separate cashpile they have built over the years (from retained profits etc), hence the high NAV/share. They have £395m (2005) of investment funds and the actual amount of premiums they write per annum is only about two-thirds of that. | factsonly
11/5/2006 09:31 | Factsonly The funds for investment come from insurance premiums! | njp
11/5/2006 09:27 | Nah...Theyve missed the boat! | noiseboy
11/5/2006 09:26 | Shorters moved in. Good sign ? Hi Factsonly ... | jpalmer25
11/5/2006 09:22 | It's just broken through a support level. I think that management aren't trying hard enough to drive the business forward and only maintaining a hold position. Surely they should be raising premiums a little bit more!? If the company isn't making money from it's insurance premium side and only on its investments, then why continue with the insurance business!? Also, a target of 6.5% returns on the investment side isn't exactly exciting either. At 6.5%, they will only make £25m (less than last financial year)? So with their business ratio at near 100%, that could mean a drop in annual profits, which explains the drop in the share price. They need new bolder blood in their management team to make best use of their assets/business, or become a takeover target again to others who can make better use of them. (I don't hold and have not shorted). | factsonly
11/5/2006 09:20 | If you look BUY and SELL levels, there is a big mismatch. Someone at the background scooping the shares up. When they tried to buy some shares approximately week ago or so price went to 90p. I have feeling that MMs are filling a big buy order. We had a same scenario March/april time. Just look at the chart. ( well, I hope anyway :-) ) | jpalmer25
11/5/2006 08:53 | Good call taylor buyers coming in at this level now | noiseboy
11/5/2006 08:50 | Its the income I'm here for, so topped up at 73p. | taylor20
11/5/2006 08:41 | must be testing the bottom now | noiseboy
11/5/2006 08:34 | That is precisely my thinking. If last year's divi (5.3p) is maintained, then we are looking at a yield of around 7% at these prices. That's a nice piece of income, especially if held within an ISA. I expect this to come back up now. If it falls further, I may throw more of my ISA cash at it. | karldinnel
11/5/2006 08:21 | nice one karldinell hopefully a temporary blip...Tasty yield at this price | noiseboy
11/5/2006 07:38 | Surely, this is just another case of market makers having a bit of fun. When I sold half my stake at 80p a couple of months back I thought I was being a bit clever by locking in some profit, but was soon kicking myself when I saw the shares approaching £1. Anyway, the fall back below 80p is an opportunity to top up I reckon, so I have! | karldinnel
11/5/2006 07:06 | What was the shocking new news in the AGM announcement, marky? We all know that they don't make much money from straight insurance. Earnings are primarily driven by investing activities. | njp
11/5/2006 06:05 | How can a Director sell the day before this announcement and not claim to have knowledge that an announcement was due the next day which would influence the share price. Scandalous! One rule for us and one for them! | markycrispy
10/5/2006 17:55 | a nicely timed director sell then! | noiseboy
10/5/2006 13:21 | The share price is bargain levels at the moment. My charts show a quick recovery time due to attractive buying opportunity. EDIT: WoW, the price drop way overdone. Should be approx 85p Any views ??? | jpalmer25
10/5/2006 10:33 | Highway always make an underwriting loss. More importantly the investment portfolio stands at +3% after 4 months with a target of 6.5% for the year. Looks like on that front they will significantly beat expectations. | miamisteve
10/5/2006 10:09 | Any predictions ? Looking at the sell numbers that there is not many sells and we knew their situation before. They have mentioned that months earlier but share price still had gone up. | jpalmer25
10/5/2006 10:02 | Ouch! Makes a mess of our lovely chart too. | taylor20
10/5/2006 09:51 | agm statement has same effect as results statement /initial dive /hopefully will also have same effect on share price as the following days after results | drsous
10/5/2006 09:43 | AGM statement went down like a lead balloon! | eipgam |
