Hiya Gateside, All's as well as can be in this (getting worse) mad world! Great to be in touch. Yes, we were both interested in Hampson and also Firth Rixon (maybe?) plus a few others - at points in the now distant past. These days, I'm broadly with you - some FTSE100 plus a few Investment Trusts. I'm not a huge fan of the UK market, post Brexit, but have taken an interest in ABDN, ahead of its 2021 results due out 1/3/22. NOT punting this stock, or anything else! just commenting that it may be worth a look. Derived from Standard Life and Aberdeen Asset Management's merger, now rebadged as 'abdrn' - this is something of a 'turnaround' (under a new CEO) - that the market may have undervalued? Anyway, very best wishes to you, Gateside - I always enjoyed your wise posts, as you say, from an age ago! Finally, I do still hold HFEL which has been a very bumpy ride, as most on here would recognise. Under the circs, I thought it stood up well yesterday, but the Far East has appeared rather less of a 'sure winner' than seemed the case - pre-Covid. Where next? We'll see....

SLL - not seen your name on ADVFN for an age - hope all's well with you.

We were both invested in Hampson Industries at the time I believe, were there any other shares that we discussed?

I tend to focus on FTSE100 companies and Investment Trusts these days.

Why is the NAV not moving. It's still at 283p. It's an achievement of sorts to get the NAV this low in these markets

You could have bought @342 on 27/1 last year Asian markets have had a very tough year Still a decent trust with a great yield if you need to sell you have a problem if not collect the dividends and wait for the recovery Patience

I've long had a 285p topup limit buy on this. I'll be happy to get more at that price.

I'll only be happy with my dividend once it ceases to be offset by capital erosion!

As long as we keep getting our 8% dividend, I'm fine with my investment here.

It's not really a raise, just a drip feed to accommodate fund managers who have money to invest. Shares issued at nav or thereabouts so not dilutive. I just wish some of them would buy on the market and give the share price a boost, but it is all about nav.

2 equity raises (today and yesterday) is quite impressive, given the wider scene.

Yes, I take full advantage of my Shares ISA every year; however for the next few years still some funds subject to tax until they too can be ISAed.
