05/3/2014 15:20 | risk1 is correct, it still takes 3 days to get on the register | crapcrap
05/3/2014 15:19 | XD is always two days before the 'record date'. They will pay out to everybody on Friday's register but to be on the register you had to hold at the close last night. Share are bought and sold on a T+3 contract meaning your transaction takes those three days to 'register' and hence if you want to be on the register by a certain date you have to act with enough time to get 'registered'. If not why would there be a point of having an Ex-dividend date that was different to the record date. The company are not misleading anyone as they will use Friday's register. You needed to buy before the XD date to be on it though. Hope that helps. | greenroom78

05/3/2014 15:07 | XD is not always on Wednesdays. The XD date is 7th March. From the company website:- "The board has pleasure in declaring a third interim dividend of 0.054 pence per share payable on 27 March 2014 to those shareholders on the register on 7 March 2014 (2012: £nil). This dividend makes a total of 0.335 pence declared for the year to date." | hillbrown
