8% up today. You need nearly infinite patience with HVE, though.

sty statement
"Our order book remains robust and provides the Board with confidence in the Group's ability to deliver double digit growth in the forthcoming year, in line with management expectations."

no comparison. this company delivers sfa everytime. deferring their salaries how about resigning for wasting millions on people that you hired then fired.

how underwhelming!
better than expected pbt -0.8m forecast -0.9m that is called rounding they pbt was -0.840 another 10g and they would have had to round it up instead of down!
cash position improving?
lets look at it.
last year it was £0.2m this year £1.1m bravo
errr maybe not - they sold their last remaining asset for £1.3m so actual cash outflow was £0.4m. this is great because they have no more asserts to sell!

didn't know when results were due but see now they are pencilled in for Thursday. so lets see how much they lost and what the exceptional costs will be. also interesting to see the outlook with styles reporting a big uplift I wonder if Havelock will come back with how challenging the market is. seems only to be challenging over a small section in fife rotflmao

Andrew - Why sell now? Why not strip the listing costs, run it lean for a year or two then sell with a cleaner P&L? :)

Greengiant - could sty be persuaded to make a hostile bid for hve ? Clearly many of us would now be happy to entertain such an approach, particularly if there was an equity element so as to enable us to share in the potential upside that might materialise once management is strengthened.

Or you sell the company. That way better factory utilisation (more margin) and lower cost base. I am open to both options, simple fact is that the Board failed, the Execs that were in place have now all but gone to be replaced with better management but not the NED's who have been equally guilty.

The question is do you believe in a brighter future as a stand alone or do you just sell it?

Once the NEDs get fired and/or we delist, we won't need STY. The 'working' directors can just get on with the job then. Can't be far away, surely...?

gg. If you want to look at a company that thinks big take a look at CRU.

I would imagine that it is partly to do with the superb results from Style & Wood. Now imagine what would have happened if the BoD's had taken the meeting that I initiated to progress a possible merger between the 2 companies :-)

A case of management thinking small.

Bit of buying interest recently, and the price hitting a 6 month high pretty much. News on the way..?

It has been a while so here goes. The company's ERP system was delayed significantly but is just about ready. 6 months late but par for the course. The company is busy working on a significant number of Capital projects but already this year we are seeing drift. Retail is dying a slow death here. M&S now barely a customer and Boots, well that is the same. The company doesn't seem to have any focus. The outlook statement will be interesting. Results potentially delayed. That's all to report.
