I hope that the selling isn't due to news leaking.

The NEDs here have been hopeless. How can they justify their positions here?

Unless the management team can come up with a CREDIBLE strategy of what they can do to turn this company around then it is better to take the company out of the market in order to reduce costs. I don't think it shows a yellow streak, it is an incredibly difficult decision to make but it does need a decision - Grow, Sell or Take private. That is fundamentally what it comes down to - I have confidence in making ALL shareholders money if it goes private - I have done it many times before and I am 100% sure I can do it here.

After all does it matter if you make money through a privae company or a public company? Simple fact is profit will increase if it is delisted. Can anyone give me 1 good reason why this company is listed?

down it goes again. so here is the question. what have the neds done over the past 4 years? 4 years of failure. yellow streak? they have not been able to sort out the company over the past 4 years so what makes you think they can do it now? i dont know what other option i. 10% now listing costs to maket cap!

I trust all this talk of delisting is merely BB waffle - I hope the directors are not going to exhibit a yellow streak by trying the delisting option! What a cop-out. Instead cutting and running they need to get a backbone and sort the company out!

And how has that worked for shareholders to date?

While it maybe in the interests of larger holders to de-list it is unlikely than small stakeholders will benefit imo, in fact history shows that they generally suffer total loss.

So while there maybe a drive to de-list by larger holders whom tend to gain, being the insiders, others suffer. Better to run the company well and turn the fortunes around with decent management who are willing to reduce their drawings and show commitment by buying decent stakes and not effectively taking it private.

sub 3m company. soon directors pay will be more than the market cap of the company. remind me again why anyone should invest in this company. maybe AB has a point when he says it is time to deist.
you have 3 non execs taking bout 150g with expenses adding what value?
gargoyle maybe you need tp fprce the issue with the company. i wouldnt listen the what they are telling you though i would treat that with a big huge pinch of salt.
remind me again why they changed nomad. obviously wasnt to promote the shares because no note has gone out. no initiation of coverage. normal havelock incompetence.
put the dog out of its misery AB take it private make a bid for it do something.

I was told by the company last week that it has now entered a close period, and that it may be more worthwhile to have a chat with them during the week commencing 25 Jan, i.e. next week. I inferred from that that there must be a trading update this week, although I could be wrong about that. I would have thought the company would be keen to update the market on how the restructuring and rightsizing of the business, which was announced in September, is progressing.

where did you get that from? i was told no trading update an that the december one was sufficient? Cant imagine they will have any good news to say they never seem to.

Word on the street is that the Investec /Oriel / Stifel connection (a certain James Grace) decided that Havelock were too small for them (again brings up the debate of why they are still listed) to continue with call it a change of strategy by the broker. The fact that the board has stuck with Mr Grace has again reflected their desire to bury their heads in the sand. Along with the decision to keep Mr Prescott, along with their decision to keep their existing bankers despite other commercial bankers being more flexible.
I have nothing against this board but feel that they are sleepwalking into trouble. The overall sense of urgency at Havelock is startling in so much as there doesn't appear to be any!!!!!!!
Also the word is that the ERP system is way behind schedule and should have already been lauched but to date remains a work in progress. Again where is the drive? If I had to run my business like this was being run then I would be out of work. Scotland is a tough market normally Havelock appear to have made themselves inadvertently more isolated and they are seen as almost an exclusive Scottish company.

Neverforget,

Looking at the number of shares traded in Havelock over the past 6 months, it does indeed lead you to the question of whether there is actually a market in these shares and indeed, what the point of it being listed is

Certainly, I am more relaxed about prior statements, that came in the main from Mr Glass is Full, it might only be a quarter full of liquid, but it is full of air, therefore, I speak only positive things.

Have a good one, it is freezing here.

I admit to being a bit perplexed by Havelock's performance. At the end of 2012 they were flying so much so that there were rumours of sales being held back deliberately until 2013. Since then it has gone into a bit of a spiral. We are starting to do some work with them again but limited.
The entire ISG defence is based around how buoyant the fit out business is. Styles are saying the same. So why is it not reflected here? Management mistakes?
Before one of the many left, they shared with me Havelock's strategy which was not done by Eric Prescott but by Paul. It did not look anything like a coherent strategy.
I would appreciate management doing an investor roadshow for institutions and pi's

So you prefer a delist? What are your intentions? You have been in here for over 4 years and nothing has happened. In fact one could argue that the business is in a much worse position there is no more silver to sell.

An interesting view

Cathexis already owns around 30% of ISG’s shares and intends to take the firm private and has argued that “due to the size of the company, the nature of its business, the cyclicality of its markets and the volatility of its share price and trading performance” it is better suited to private ownership.

Would love to have Havelock explain its strategy and belief of why Havelock is still better placed to remain listed.

As 2015 comes to a close, Havelock Europa looks back on a landmark year and the changes that have put customers firmly at the centre of their business...

Appointed Chief Executive in May 2015, David Ritchie’s first priority was to understand exactly what clients want from Havelock Europa, both in the UK and internationally. Having undertaken extensive research to gather key insights from existing clients, and those new to the Havelock brand, significant changes have been implemented that align Havelock’s new client service and delivery model with their clients’ needs.

This puts Havelock Europa at the forefront of interiors design, manufacture and installation in the commercial and public sectors, as evidenced by new orders from major retail and corporate brands and from schools and universities through ESA McIntosh, our renowned product brand in education and learning spaces.

Changes also included moving to new premises, which showcase our craftsmanship and design capabilities, as well as providing an office environment designed, manufactured and installed by our own people that reflects our commitment to quality and sustainability.

“2015 has been all about our clients” said David Ritchie: “Where and how we can innovate products and improve our service delivery, as well as investing in our people and processes to ensure they deliver.”

As Havelock Europa focuses on the year ahead, the company will continue to demonstrate its enhanced approach to client service and delivery and to invest in its product offering through leading brand ESA McIntosh.

We would like to thank all of you who have made this a definitive year and supported us over the past 12 months.

Let's hope

Hi all, just from a very simplistic view, looking at last years results net assets are around £6m after intangibles. At just over £3m mkt cap doesn't this seem really cheap? What am I missing? :)

I sold out of HVE some years ago but still have an interest and follow this BB.

AB - just wanted to say a big thanks for your candid insights.

Not difficult to see the potential in HVE - could easily be a multi-bagger at these levels...just need the right management, which it sounds like AB is confident are now in place.
