Yes - back down again. I can deal, but not getting live prices etc and updated positions. Same as yesterday until it completely crashed.

Yep. :-) The suggestion was their live positions were not updating (and they weren't) so they pulled the service to 'catch-up'. I maintain separate records as I go, so not having live positions or not having the ability to trade? Not their choice to make. Not happy. As it happens, no real damage done - but knowing that I cannot rely on them does make it different for me.

It's effectively £12 a trade (£11.95) with HL. You only get it down to £6 (£5.95) if you've carried out 20 trades the previous month. So the question should be - 'what do you expect from £12 a trade?' - the answer is 'a lot better than yesterday'.

Honestly what do you expect for £6 a trade

I closed most of the longs I had on HL., for decent monies on a short time period, but for less than I had originally planned - mainly on account of how bad the platform was today. The whole point of being with them, and paying a little more for trades (£6 rather than £5 elsewhere) is that it is meant to be more robust and stay functional on days like this. It didn't. Combined with other recent issues - non-updating share prices for some stocks, loss of broker updates, it is becoming a significant problem. As I would think many others are thinking. Not impressed, if they're reading this.

Doesn't help anyone caught up in it. I'm one of those stuck with duplicate trades. Although I'm very happy to haven taken a profit, those unable to trade at all would have been quite annoyed. At least it was a capacity issue and not a hack attack, nor a crash from a dodgy upgrade. Question now is how long will it take them to remedy the fallout.

Service issues on HL platform today during their heaviest days trading in the companies history. So business is brisk at least. Bad publicity though. They need to beef up their it.

This just isn't good enough is it - how legal is all of this? - when you can't get access to your wealth either by internet or by phone.

(Yes, I got that - but how do you contact them?!) I mean it's great as I have a quite a few of these - but when the bloody thing is failing, you might expect otherwise. It is apparently an LSE problem, so they are all down. But getting through by phone is impossible.

I finally managed to get in to be presented with :- "At present, we are unable to display any investments for your account. Please contact us to get a valuation or to place a deal".

Indeed ... and it coincides with the day they take your monthly contributions ... be 'interesting' if they manage to mess that up as well. In theory they shouldn't- but stranger things have happened- including with a man called Woodford ...

Another triumph for the HL IT department ! Never the strongest part of their organisation.
