The Woodford investors must accept losses just like I have in the likes of: HL and whole manner of tech related companies. They need to swallow and stop crying like a baby

I think until the Woodford thing is finally put to bed the share price will struggle to properly re-rate. Look at how AJB shares have been out performing HL recently.

As well as the possible court case and damages, there is also risk of an FCA fine and then potentially the Financial Ombudsman Service could impose redress for complaints that have been passed to them.

definitely going through a rough patch with a combination of lower dealing commissions, increased investment, and poor market and investor sentiment. but IMV the long term drivers behind their considerable growth in the last 20 years are intact and secure for the foreseeable future.

I just cannot see things improving in short term ahead of the delayed yet again budget statement

Confidence is draining away was taken aback by move up in most markets yesterday in light of current circumstances

As I said sold out my small holdings 2 days ago looking at 730/735 area but if it breaks my view is we be heading to 600 level

Not interested in investing at moment too many variables and a market that I am unable to make any head nor tail off

Good luck everyone

the fees they charge are high, but so are st james's place who charge extortionately high fees, and seem to be having no problems growing assets under management at double digit rates. after remembering rule 1 (don't lose money), rule 2 is to minimise the fees you pay. i always think twice about investing in businesses where i think overcharging is taking place.

nevertheless they're both very stable, long term secular growth businesses with very sticky revenues. HL has hit a bump in the road, but IMV if you come back in 5 and 10 years time, AUM and profits will be higher than what they are now. the need to save for retirement is not going anywhere and the market will grow for the foreseeable future.

and of course, by pocketing the interest people leave in cash, they make a very tidy risk free sum (IMV automatically sharing that sum with investors would go a long way to building trust, even if at the expense of short term profits - the prize is a lifelong customer that you risk losing with a profit maximising mindset).

No Braverman when handing in her resignation due to an error on her part displayed what is sadly missing in most politicians of late

Integrity

As such she is a fresh and welcome presence in the higher echelons of government

Long may it continue

Little more impetus needed for the FTSE

So far so good but not counting my chickens yet

Good luck all

I'm feeling that Woodford is already priced (shares have halved in the past year) - £100m would still be a lot less than full year profits, so not disastrous, plus they are likely to attempt to settle out of court to avoid reputational damage and further bad publicity. Risk to share price is if there's wider market falls over the next 6 months - especially in the US.

You seem to take a perverse delight in raining on my parade

Not overly concerned at moment dividend will suffice and sustain me for now even with no special

Put most of my money into trackers just put the last bit into Hargreaves so not to worried

But the sooner this whole sorry mess is sorted the better I will feel

Waiting watching the bywords for me

Good luck everyone

Agree with all that but the elephant in the room is the pending legal action against HL over Woodford fiasco, the media will love it, I wonder whether that’s why the CEO is throwing in the towel, they have gone after Link and I’m pretty sure next shoe to drop will be HL, the fundamentals won’t really matter, look how gsk is getting hammered over the lawsuits in the US over ranitidine. I honestly think when it kicks off this could go under a fiver. U.K. facing some pretty dire times, trying to raise rates into a recession to control double figure inflation is unheard of, the country is energy poor trying to pay for imports with trashed sterling and both government and individuals are hugely in debt, I honestly don’t think anyone in power is being that honest about what’s coming down the tracks, if it’s anything like 08 we are looking at seven or eight years of serious shxt and depreciating asset prices. It’s been a while coming. Just can’t see how U.K. asset managers can do any good, it’s not just HL, they have all sold off, and with good reason. The U.K. has lost 20pc of its trade with Europe since brexit and not a penny of that has been replaced with all those wonderful trade deals with “ other countries “ fat Boris promised. Best trade right now, carry on shorting house builders, check 08 charts for where they are heading.

Hopefully good timing jubberjim with a new low today...

So Peter Hargreaves voted against the Chair and Head of the Remuneration Committee at the AGM on Wednesday

It's good to see him finally getting vocal about the disastrous performance over the last year. As well as the share price drop I doubt he would have agreed with dropping the Special Dividend.

Although the Chair was still re-elected she only got 66% and will be much weakened. I wonder if Peter senses this is his moment to act and try and bring in his own man as CEO? He might even be tempted to buy more shares in the market after he sold some at 1,535p as recently as February 2021.

Be afraid be very afraid spent my last schekels this am @ 742.30

That's it now to see what transpires

Confusion and confused markets should be beneficial in my view but not expecting too much downside for time being

Have been wrong before as you all are well aware.

About time Peter Hargreaves, stood up to the plate, should have made comments a year ago, still a great company, low cost base, cash on balance sheet etc & tapping into long term wealth market. Only downside for me seem uncompetitive on Unit Trust Fees, .0045% others do flat fee?. (What do others think of UT fees?). Will look to buy back if approach £7.00, great safe dividend yield & a geared play on recovery.
