10/3/2011 14:44 | Like you noshy, I bought my first chunk in Sept 2004 at 151p and today, after a number of trades HMY are my biggest investment by a country mile at an average price of 217p. Good management, good products, good prospects. Doesn't get much better than that for anyone interested in a long term investment. | ![]() alter ego
10/3/2011 14:21 | "Shares" tipped HMY back in 2004. I bought my first tranche at IIRC about 150 and followed all the way up to 600. Paid for landscaping the front garden and new drive | ![]() noshy

01/3/2011 16:51 | I doubt there's much of a link with turmoil here. Whilst some oil/gas originates in the ME, most of HMY sales are to other regions and the lead time from order to revenue recognition is pretty long. There is a link between high fuel prices and more explo activity which HMY may benefit from but again the timeframe is huge. I suggest it has more to do with the year end approaching fast, expectation beating results due and some funds deciding to take a stake with the share price looking a tad depressed on the back of anxiety that doesn't particularly have much to do with HMY. | ![]() alter ego
01/3/2011 16:24 | Maybe Hamworthy's share price has a connection with the turmoil in north Africa. Will more oil /gas need to be transported by ship or will the higher oil price just cause economic depression that reduces shipping in general? | ![]() mdrans1

28/2/2011 10:25 | Hi Piedro. This is used to separate oil and water. Traditionally, oil from a well went into a big tank where it was allowed to settle to enable the unwanted water to be removed. The coalescer speeds up the process by providing a continuous flow of separated oil. HMY acquired the technology in 2009 when they bought Aibel. 26/1/2011 16:13 | There must be a very significant positive impact on this year's results to end March 2011. There was no need to make such a trading update announcement, so must be a very positive and unexpected improvement to this year's performance. | silverthread

26/1/2011 08:11 | (RTTNews) - Hamworthy plc (HMY.L), in a trading update, said the Board now expects the group to significantly surpass previous earnings forecast for the current financial year ending 31 March 2011. Since the announcement of its interim results on 23 November 2010 the company has experienced strong demand for its aftersales products and services, an increase in order intake from the oil and gas market and a reduction in the instances of customers delaying delivery dates. However, it remains too early to predict whether these effects will continue into the following financial year. | m.t.glass
