21/9/2020 18:03 | Yes technowiz, HMSO shorts can close by buying the nil paid shares and paying the 15p. Some days ago the arb was very tempting, with HMSO trading 17p-18p higher than HMON. On Friday (I think) HMSO traded for a while less than 15p higher than HMON, so some traders will have closed then, rather than take up the rights. | typo56
21/9/2020 16:28 | HMON 2pHMSO 18.5 stillLower yet | alexios1201
21/9/2020 16:24 | can shorts close by buying the nil paid rights? | technowiz
21/9/2020 13:15 | I think for most shopkeepers, there is little profit to be had in corona times so a landlord doing a deal to get some rent is always a good one. However, as few people are actively renting now, it means that deals done now are obviously low. In the long run, the world has to be more flexible and so there always had to be a turn towards more flexible rents including turnover. But although rents will be down a bit obviously although not all as much as that headline (those shops were closing anyway precorona and staying open on the basis of slashed rents), I think they'll go up again when corona is over. Like the Hammerson share price that goes up and down like a seasaw, rents can go up as well as down. They always have and they always will. Judging by that woman who may get the job, at least they are interviewing people who seem to be flexible. | researchcentre123
21/9/2020 12:11 | if nil paid rights are 3p why is HMSO at 19p? should it not be 18p? | technowiz
21/9/2020 12:10 | is it too late to buy HMNO nil paids at 4p then get HMSO at 15p? 3p+15p=18p HMSO is 19p+ | technowiz
21/9/2020 12:08 | Rights cannot trade bellow zero can they???I mean nil paids?Currently HMON at 3p | alexios1201
21/9/2020 12:05 | Research, you might like to read last week's statement from Next PLC re the rent reductions they've negotiated on lesse renewals. 50٪ reduction on average. | essentialinvestor
21/9/2020 11:59 | People are probably having to commit now with their brokers if they want to take up the rights. They're then locked in and may find they can't sell their new HMSO until next week. Could be painful to watch if HMSO continue to slide. | typo56
21/9/2020 11:30 | HMON 3.5pHMSO 19'sWipeout for rights | alexios1201
21/9/2020 11:29 | Here's the value investor formula and why this fits: Templeton's basic formula is to divide the total value of a company by the number of shares the company has distributed," wrote biographer William Proctor. "This calculating will give you the true value of a company's stock, and if the market price is lower, it's a bargain." This method was used to operate the Templeton Growth Fund, opened in 1954. It was spectacularly successful, with the fund producing an annualized return of 14 percent over several decades. According to John J. Miller, a $10,000 investment in 1954 would have been worth $2 million in 1992, when Templeton sold the fund. Currently the asset base of this share is 104p after subtracting debt so if you get in at 20p there is a lot of upside. | researchcentre123 |
