Here's an interesting scenario. The Dutch APG holds 20% or so. The Africaans Lighthouse owns 11%. A lot of business goes on between the Dutch and the Africaans. Blackstone have carried on buying. You could have one big voting block there. I would have thought between them they could find a more entrepreneurial CEO to replace the rent collector who will shortly be gone. Just need to reward according to increase in longterm shareholder value rather than a fabulous salary regardless of how he performs......

It seems to me that this is looking an exciting development. There are some big changes that could be made - as we discussed earlier - for example a 1.4 million square feet office building being developed in central London where residential prices are £2k a square foot - not a big thing to change that to residential in today's world, but a big difference in value. They were originally developers and hopefully a new CEO will be able to go back to their roots, where they were originally developers rather than rent collectors which they seem to be today (and not very good at it). It really wouldn't require a lot to bring a dramatic change to their fortunes. Anyone else out there have an opinion?

I think we'll be getting more and more of these Lighthouse notifications. They are specialists in retail so I guess cant resist the 8 times discount to net asset value. I also would be surprised if they don't have some input here with the CEO on his way out. This has needed a little more than a rent collector to realise the true asset value so hopefully this clears the way with Atkin's resignation. It has always been easy to fill up an empty unit - you just charge below market rent, and I do wonder if that's what Atkins was up to, given the very high occupancy rate. Anyway I can only see this as a positive - this is after all the CEO who turned down a huge bid a while back close to asset value, presumably to protect his job. We just need someone now who has a stake in the company and whose interests are truly aligned with the shareholders'.

So I guess Atkins leaving is good news? Seems to me you need a wartime CEO - hopefully lighthouse can have some input or have a plan. I can't imagine investing over 50 or 60m and not having one

TRCML just watching BBC explain how a clothes retailer will have to operate under the new rules! I would imagine a fair few business will seriously have to consider whether they open or not given the costs involved and the restrictions on footfall.

Still feel all this euphoria will evaporate overnight if govt extend moratorium on not being able to take action against tenants not paying as that will put June rent collection under further pressure.

I would think today's rise more about the imminent re-opening on 15 June of non-essential shops and shopping centres than NAV. The pressing concern for HMSO is rent collection, quarter day next is 24 June.

Whether shoppers will return to spend enough to persuade retailers to pay the June rent without expecting any holiday or reduction is also a factor.

thank you, but no shorting or longing for me on this, I am a tangible asset man that has his own control of destiny. but I am very happy to see traders making money.

I hope for his sake Mason hasn't been shorting this or if he has he's closed his position.....I really can't get why anyone would short a stock which has such a strong asset base

Strong close, at highs of the day, long, long way to go north yet, still allows savvy long term investors to by £5 notes for 50p

Well I guess we see how far it'll go now. Net asset value 600p so even with share price at 150, it's still got 4 times cover.....8 times cover at the moment
