01/2/2013 14:28 | Do you think Gold miners are a sell at this moment if your looking for a 5-10 year investment? Simple Yes or NO please. | aaaaar
01/2/2013 14:25 | Gold miners must be at least 50% down relative to other sectors over the last year. If you've been over exposed to gold stocks in this time you've had a shocker. You don't really recover that versus a better diversified investor, no matter your timeframe. The better investor can switch more overweight to gold when the time is right. That time has not been in the last 18 months. Fact. | 1nf3rn0
01/2/2013 13:54 | Depends on your time frame. | aaaaar
01/2/2013 13:37 | Buying stocks that are going up is better than buying stocks going down. Ergo, holding loads of gold stocks over the last year or so versus practically any other sector has been an awful choice. | 1nf3rn0
01/2/2013 12:53 | I think the last post does rather encapsulate the general sentiment which tends to prevent people making overall good long term profits on the market. Everyone knows that it is better to buy low and sell high. But in practise, tend to be swayed by emotion and fear - and do the opposite. The best time to sell must always be when sentiment is at it's most bullish. And conversely, the best time to buy must be when sentiment and share prices are at their lowest ebb. It's obvious surely! However, the above can only work with any confidence (at least for me) if there is a good fundamental case for underlying value. In the case of HMB, I recognise that people may well doubt the underlying fundamentals because of their past record. So it is perfectly understandable why people will require a clearer picture of where they are heading before wishing to hold - hence my earlier comment about the CEO's review. But to apply the same thinking to all gold stocks in general is a major mistake in my view as some are making significant profits which will inevitably drive their SPs higher. But, as usual, detailed stock-picking DD is absolutely essential. Chip | chipperfrd
01/2/2013 12:15 | Gold miners have been a very poor investment over the last year or so. Even the banks (which i've avoided) have performed better. I don't see a turn around in the sector anytime soon. | 1nf3rn0
01/2/2013 10:38 | All in good time! The new CEO is carrying out a full operational review. That is far more important than the 4Q activities report, which is fairly predictable anyway. I can wait. It is their strategy for the future which will define HMB and it's investment case going forward. Chip | chipperfrd
01/2/2013 10:20 | Giant Its a good question about the update, when they delay news like this it usually means they are fishing for some other news to add to the bad news, to even out the bad with the good. | chestnuts
01/2/2013 10:01 | Where's the production update ? (looks several weeks late) | giant steps
31/1/2013 09:39 | Another pointless post from our resident Nut! ...much like this one. | aaaaar
31/1/2013 08:40 | I see a leopard never changes its spots no matter whos in control. | chestnuts
28/1/2013 15:41 | Chipperford What worries me when some one owns 60% of a company is that when they do a comprehensive review, is that they might decide thats its better for all share holders to sell Seki to another company, ie his best mate, for a pittance , dont say it wont happen or couldnt happen , i was in a company many yrs ago and it did happen, he sold the company to himself and we the share holders could do nothing about it. | chestnuts
28/1/2013 13:30 | On the 12th December it was reported that the new CEO would be focussed on a comprehensive review of the Company's operations and strategic options with a view to identifying the best way forward for Hambledon and it's shareholders. So I am assuming that this exercise may well have delayed the quarterly report somewhat. Hopefully, there may be some feedback/guidance from the CEO's review included in the next report. 28/1/2013 09:17 | Surprised their are no results out on hmb as dont they have to be out before 31st, if so leaveing it very close to the wire. | chestnuts
23/1/2013 14:01 | MASSIVE volume...... | aaaaar
23/1/2013 13:35 | Bingo. Sales now priced at 1.9p. How low will it go? | 1nf3rn0
22/1/2013 21:41 | No operations update yet, and sales today were going through at 2p. So it won't take much now for this to be back sub-2p - and given the usual poor Q4 figures, plus the fact under-ground production has already been halted - the production update could well do it! So much for those mutterings about onwards and upwards after the "weak holders" were shook out by the 2p offer. | 1nf3rn0
14/1/2013 18:03 | Chip With out the underground production winter will again effect production , 1st Q will be down to 4000 again. Unless they get financing sorted or underground resumes with what money they have left, its going to get tough. | chestnuts
14/1/2013 17:54 | You've got to congratulate those that sold at 2.8p on Christmas eve. A real gift. Could be a long time till that is seen again. | 1nf3rn0
14/1/2013 17:24 | Phillis Quite likely we will get the production update this week. I am hoping there may also be some titbits on forward strategy as well. Chip | chipperfrd
14/1/2013 16:23 | nice to see people able to exit at more than the 2p offer price | phillis
10/1/2013 10:48 | Interesting to see 'Henderson' taking a stake in HMB. I know that Henderson have been showing a keen interest in Edenville energy in Africa ( Does any one have a view/information on how well Henderson perform with their investment portfolio overall? | lesteague
10/1/2013 08:09 | nothing to do with PIs it is the Board that makes that decision now if you had said that Mr Eccles was a lightweight and a stooge of Bridgen then I would be sympathetic | phillis |
