We all have looked very foolish allowing TD to run the company.

Current MktCap is only c. 1x 2012 revenue.

Still approx 2 years of production left from the open pit.

Underground resource at c. $2b+ gross value at current PoG. New resource imminent.

Company now under new management of well-heeled, well motivated, 60% owners so further financing for re-commencement of UG development looks highly likely to be available internally.

Possible addition of Akmola deposits.

Conclusion: risk/reward looks well biased towards the upside (to me!).

Only time will tell.

what you don't get NUTS is that the decision not to take 2p was based on a 12-36 month timetable ( yes - up to 3 years!)

Shares go up and down
Hopefully value eventually comes through
your postings every time there is a movement (down) are irrelevant
now p*ss off unless you can make a sensible contribution

Chest-It appears you have sold out and want back in cheaper. Why would AR have a placing at .5p after paying 2p for 60% of the Co.?

Infernoe beat me to it, they will probably buy more shares, after all they either go for more debt or they use the market, i go for use the market, after all some one as got to put the money up. I am only guessing like every one else, but it doesnt look good all the big boys pulling out and leaving just one major shareholder.

dof, why do you and Chip assume AR or their associates wouldn't take up any placing shares, if their were a placing? They could of course even increase their percentage holding via a placing if others don't take up their entitlements.

Anyway, this point in time presents an interesting psychological test for the HMB faithful. Having passed up the opportunity to sell at a 40% premium to the 2p offer they now see the share price lingering marginally above 2p, and looking as though it could drop back below that level any time.

All the while lower risk stocks are flying in early 2013 trading.

A general gold note from yesterday's City AM.

"GOLD BUBBLES
Gold remains in bubble territory, so avoid the hype. Anyone buying at
current levels is basically speculating, not investing. When market volatility
is high, investors sell their gold as it seems to be viewed as a short-term
provider of liquidity or cash. The big global investors have already made
their long-term money allocations to gold. When markets recover,
investors again sell their gold and reallocate money into riskier assets, like shares and commodities. Global markets are very uncertain
at the moment, but there are positive signs that, over the longer term,
problems will get resolved and markets will improve. In the
interim, do not get caught up in all the short-term noise. Above
all, do not trade or speculate around uncertain geopolitical events."

Chestnuts - why would AR dilute themselves by such a huge amount??.

Looks like Hendersons have left the party, who are the other big holders left, a placing will happen and all the big boys will be part of it but at a much lower price maybe .5p lets see,

Inferno

On a charting front it looks like price went up checked resistance and come straight back down, as you say will price hold, with EBRD and Somercourt selling out, and i am sure the other Institutes will have followed suit, and have been primed for the recapitalisation around 1p , but time will only tell on this,

After the brief opportunity to sell at 2.8p on Christmas Eve, things seem to be returning to normality with sales now going through at 2.28p. Will 2p hold up as support, or will it slide through like a knife through butter?

Now the decks are cleared of all the debris, except TD (but that cannot be long), so we can start to believe that serious investors will stsrt to like the look of this one.
Good luck all.

Can't speak for Barclays, I contacted my broker, HSBC, this morning; proceeds to be credited on 27th. Some brokers credited proceeds on 21st, but not the majors - never miss an opportunity to gouge a mite from the poor pi.

Somercourt's notification is a function of having received the cash from the 2p offer

The market seems to be applauding Bridgen's departure
