The odd thing is that you guys have let this wally put a doubt in your mind about the integrity of the company, enough to persuade you to write to the company and get some reassurance! Its waste of their time frankly..

Nice one toyin. Yes I remember you posting similar Festy. Satisfying and reassuring to be reminded again though. Different names reporting the same matter is all to the good as well.

. . . Don't think it will deter Slippy though. I read his tortoured posts as meaning a hedge fund, not an investigatory authority, was conducting it's own private analysis. (Private to everyone except Slippy that is, whom they've cleared to be in the loop :) Or as Slippy self aggrandisingly calls it: "investigation" :)

. . . Slippy appears more bothered about somehow being proved right rather than making money. Where's the profit in that?

. . . Nor has he considered an analysis by a hedge fund or ahem LOL "investigation" not that I find credibility in that, has a conclusion, a summary if you will.

. . . He's prejudged this so called hedge fund's findings (that only he and he alone knows of) but what if they conclude not enough evidence to support recommending a further short as a viable proposition? Only he is "in the loop" to know the outcome. My security clearance doesn't go high enough to be in the know but Slippy's does :) So Slippy's annoyed ADFN forum posters aren't more grateful to him.

. . . As for "accounting irregularities". K A is a qualified accountant. I should think his own professional pride would never let him get criticised for a tiddler like that. It would have to be mega fraud on an industrial scale LOL! Seriously what qualified accountant could hold his or her head high if they were nabbed on amateur "accounting irregularities"?

. . . . All good entertainment whilst waiting for the share price to wake up.

It's the same rebuttal I posted last week from GVC.The board don't like their staff having their time wasted, nor do they like damaging aspirations. The company's legal team will be going after Slippery, and ADVFN will release his IP addresses and details. It's happened before, it's a very expensive and painful lesson is libel.

From Investor Relations.

All the best.

Thank you for your email. In regard to your enquiry, we are not aware of any investigation into GVC and there are no “accounting irregularities”;. GVC group is currently audited by Grant Thornton and BDO and it is a matter of record that the group has very recently gone through an extensive financial reporting assessment in order to gain its premium listing. I would also note that as a listed company, GVC has to announce to the market any price sensitive information when it comes into existence, it cannot sit on the information, so if a material issue arose then we would be obliged to announce it. The remarks made in the extract to your email are simply untrue and libellous.

As regard to the share price movement, it is impossible to assign an exact cause an effect, but we would note that with the price having risen from £3.72 in the last 12 months and from £4.67 since the acquisition of bwin.party on 1 February, there has been an opportunity for profit taking by institutional holders as they near the year end and seek to balance their books.

Slippy,

You seem to know how to spell the word WONGA.

The CFO of Wonga joins GVC in February 2017 so I am interested to know how that affects GVC in November 2016? How does it affect the current accounts?

Some sort of time machine?

You will have to do better than that to impress me.

He keeps mentioning wonga, do you think he has confused
gvc with wonga and its dealings?

And where has 425 share price target come from.... is this on the research note that has not yet been published or just a random number that you have set yourself...If this is from a credible source (i.e. not you) then it would make sense to post the link so that we can all be privvy to information that makes us sell our holdings and take out short positions, driving the price further down.

Slippy.

Yes the CMA is investigating the UK situation. GVC is a small player in this market and only 10% of GVCs business is in the UK.

The CMA is looking into whether enforcement action may be necessary - ie by asking the companies to change their term, conditions or practices.

If GVC is implicated they may have to hire a lawyer to change a few words in their terms and conditions and/or put a bigger button on their website to allow people to withdraw their winnings.

It is my belief that GVC have the financial resources to hire a lawyer for a couple of days or to pay a web developer to decide the colour and font on a cash out button.

To clear it up for you 90% of GVCs business is unaffected by this. Other companies should be much more worried, but even then only slightly worried.

You will have to do better than that if you are to impress me.

"This is gonna tank big time". Mmmm indeed, one has to had it to Slippery for his detailed analysis of the company. I might pay more attention to his rantings.....sorry posts, if he could construct a coherent sentence.

The only investigation going on is by all the other major
gambling companies trying to work out what price they
will need to bid to get their hands on gvc and its management
via a bid, I would have thought.

Massive exposure dye to its miriad of gaming sites offering rippoff intro offers. I also have had drawn to my attention and question the historic onboarding practices of newly aquired companies.

I think there is a great deal to come out in the wash. I have heard of a forensic accounting involvment involving a well known shorting hedge fund.

I will bide my time....??
WONGA. Major red flag. Hahaha

Slippy - "Make no mistake the current investigation is almost exclusively focused on GVC businesses due to their massive exposure."

Just a quick question - what is this massive exposure you are talking about? Exposure to what?

No! No! No! - No Slippy, No!

. . . You're playing with fire trying to short at these ultra low RSi share price levels. The most recent time to short was Sept 21/22nd when it was Overbought. Where were you then? In fact there have been 8 opportunities of overbought situations since the beginning of this calendar year. That's a lot. Put the risk/reward ratio to your advantage. Would have been relatively easy money shorting from overbought as on EVERY occasion the correction was significant. Because GVC is naturally bouyant and optimistic and years from reaching peak growth, the share over the last 5 years, means I almost can't begin to count the number of overbought situations. If you're lucky you get an overbought like the week of FTSE250 admission where the share price goes psycho and more or less drops directly over a couple of weeks from overbought to oversold netting a shorter significant profits. Shorting from here is a poor reward to risk ratio. In fact it's mostly risk with little if any reward from down here. Have you worked out your reward/risk ratio? Tsk! Eeeh tell you what, if I'm still around by the next overbought I'll highlight it unless others do and we'll get you making some real money, lad! :) : ) :)

Keep shorting from here and it's you who'll likely lose the lot.

Completely forgot to have a nose at today's final volume. Turns out to be one of the lowest, need to check historic volumes properly but very, very, low at just 0.7m ie.,(from memory historic 50 day average volume is over 2.1m I think, 200 day average volume is 1.5m)

. . . So pretty hard to be firm on what is seen on screen, as the share price is anybody's at this low volume. Wouldn't take much in the way of orders to move share price in either direction. Easy to make errors of judgement in such a climate.

. . . . . . EDIT: Hee hee! Seeing as Slippy says my post was BS (He won't be the first; nor the last) then again, Slippy is the go-to man for BS (kettle, pot, black?? :) he's just going to love the following admission: Upon reflection after considering Wednesday's low volume and previous lowish volumes this week, perhaps instead I should have simply posted a single sentence -

. . . Low volume dictates it would be unwise to form any firm conclusions on trend direction.
