Decided to buy back in, as the price has dropped 9.5% since last held.

For those following any of the American boat companies; Gulfmark Offshore Inc NYSE:GLF are liable to jump today on the announcement of two long term contracts for vsls in the North Sea. I believe its also still seen as a possible takeover play, as Seacor Holdings recently approached to suggest a merger due to GLF's debt issues.
Another American quoted share worth watching and has made gains is Teekay Offshore (TOO)

According user comment on the FT Alphaville Markets live today Numis has initiated coverage with a buy note and target price of 130p. Which would be nice. That is a long way from here and pretty much a complete rebound. But would be nice this time next year.

The principal concern I have with this business is over the
potential impact of 2/3rds of its fleet coming off firm contract around now and also that new contract bookings

may face pricing pressure.

Thanks BMW. If Gulf Capital wish to reduce their position in GMS I wonder would a take over offer be attractive to them or likely? Just a thought.

Yes,if you google Gulf Capital and Gulf Marine it has always been their intention to sell post IPO but market weakness hindered progress. Good to see they are orderly and somewhat price sensitive!

2016 results out in March so lock up period is for a relatively short time.

the traded volume is drying up and more profit takers taking out some cash

Gulf are placing shares rather than doing any market selling which is positive, and there is now a lock up until the 2016 results which removes any overhang concerns. This should ensure that stock remains in short supply and demand should be firm.

Thanks BMW that sounds reasonable.

Always has been. Getting them reduced and increasing free float is good for GMS as before it was small cap with no free float on top!

But is there effectively an overhang of Gulf Capital shares now?

Those institutions seem to be interested in owning more shares and they want to double/triple the profit or earn nice dividend.

Don't worry Mark they've got another out tomorrow telling us that oil hit $30 last year and this could be bad news for oil stocks.

Nimrod - Now is not the time to sell this share. It is indeed still well behind the market curve. GLDYOR

two or three more long term contracts can take GMS to 100p+

comment from ML could only affect the share price if no new contract until the Final Result in March I think, would you agree?
