They have a further 5.4 million remaining and 4 days of the program. They are obliged by MAR corporate governance to protect shareholders pre announcement of co sale. This is what they are doing. They aren’t seriously buying, they are showing others that if they try and flash crash this , they are up against a HUGE cash pile that prevents it. | ![]() herbertsmithfreehills

17/6/2024 08:41 | I would say that in the longer term, paying off the 100 million debt last year, and now the buyback will increase gkp's value and make it more defendable in the future. So yes, maybe buying back cheaply is a good thing in the long run, and in normal circumstance the price should adjust upwards in the near future. | ![]() petebreeze37

17/6/2024 05:58 | As I keep saying, the Kurds have a legal and constitutional right to sign their own contracts and the ICG lost any leverage they had over the Kurds when their "Supreme Court" ordered them to pay the $700 million a month salary bill. The ICG badly need to get the pipeline open because of the amount of money they're losing and their need to diversify their export routes hence their call for an "urgent" meeting and the Kurds are saying "you aren't even going to SEE the contracts until you acknowledge that they're legal" which is why APIKUR mentioned a "legal jeopardy" and only sample contracts were provided. June 16. APIKUR: KRG yet to provide Iraq with copies of oil contracts, negotiations ongoing. According to the spokesperson of the Association of the Petroleum Industry of Kurdistan (APIKUR), Myles Caggins, the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has not yet submitted copies of the oil contracts to the Iraqi government. Caggins mentioned that adjustments to the contracts need to align with the current circumstances. Caggins also stated that, despite investing $10 billion in the Kurdistan Region, the terms of our work need to be revised. Significant funds have been allocated to oil-related endeavors in the region. APIKUR spokesperson emphasized the importance of KRG’s involvement in modifying the oil agreements. Negotiations are underway for oil exports from the Kurdistan Region, with further discussions expected to address additional specifics. | ![]() habshan

17/6/2024 04:24 | Broadford - "At no time was it ever intended, and nor did it so transpire, to enter into any sort of negotiation with APIKUR." Another googled fairy story by the sounds of it. I fail to understand how he claims to have access to highly confidential negotiations between all 3 parties when thats plainly impossible and how he doesnt seem to realise that all news is being "managed". | ![]() highlander7

16/6/2024 19:09 | Broadford - "At no time was it ever intended, and nor did it so transpire, to enter into any sort of negotiation with APIKUR." Witter witter witter. And at no time will the pipeline reopen until APIKUR are content that their conditions have been met regardless of WHAT the ICG and KRG might talk about, they can talk till the cows come home but nothing will be agreed without APIKUR. As APIKUR said only last week nothing will be agreed unless ALL THREE PARTIES agree it. Meanwhile GKP and the other IOCs are making good money paid upfront straight into their bank accounts and can continue in that vein for as long as it takes. And all while the ICG are losing money hand over fist through their own refusal to honour legally binding contracts and tankers carrying Iraqi crude having to embark on round trip voyages round Africa of up to 3 months which would otherwise take 8-10 days from Ceyhan. So instead of getting 10 trips out of a tanker they're getting ONE. The ICG have got themselves into a mighty fix Broadford and the only way out of it is for them to come to an agreement with APIKUR, and APIKUR have the support of the KRG because the Kurds have no intention of giving up their legal and constitutional rights to manage their own Oil & Gas industry and sign their own contracts. The ICG lost any leverage they had over the Kurds when their "Supreme Court" ordered them to pay the $700 million a month salary bill. The PSCs are legal under both the Iraqi constitution and international law which is why the ICG can't cancel them and are having to negotiate. And no amount of wittering by you will change that. | ![]() habshan
