Salih@MohammedASalih (Senior Fellow @FPRI) 19 Mar 2024 "(Also) in first major reaction to KDP's recent moves against Federal Court rulings, Iraq's President Rashid tells Court head Omairi that though financial, trade & monetary policies are federal powers, their implementation mechanisms are part of the powers of autonomous regions." ------------ (Quote) The New Region@thenewregion (4h) BREAKING: The Federal Supreme Court’s ruling regarding Kurdistan Region’s civil servants salaries aims at protecting the common interests and establishing social justice, head of the court told Iraq’s President on Tuesday. ------------- "Rashid seems to support KRG on the manner of salary distribution & its overall powers over internal matters. First time he takes a public position with such clarity on the KRG-Baghdad disputes. Certainly viewed positively in Erbil but serious challenges remain.... ...The statement from Rashid’s office is, however, silent on the matter of the Iraqi Federal Supreme Court’s ruling on Kurdistan internal elections and KDP’s boycott of the parliamentary polls there." ----------- (Quote) Kurdistan 24@K24English (4h) Iraqi President Latif Rasheed met with Federal Supreme Court President Jassim Mohammed Aboud in Baghdad, affirming Iraq's federal nature and the recognition of the Kurdistan Region as per the constitution. President Rasheed clarified that finance, customs, trade, and border powers are under the central government's jurisdiction, but their implementation falls within the Kurdistan Region's authority. | punter26

19/3/2024 13:22 | Is Carroll on the "buybacks" again, lol. That would be a waste of crucial funds as has been explained many times before as the increase in share price will get sold into. I note that sarah the Queen lemming has had more melt downs!! Remember gullible suckers she was adamant that Baghdad wouldn't take control but all you have to do is look at the changes that have already occurred. All her bluster about Baghdad haven't cancelled the PSC's, they don't need to. Also to keep in mind there is a huge difference in value between the top quality high API oil and the sludge. So its very likely the sludge available for the pipe will be reduced. That is likely to result in some sludge being available for the local market as it is now. That will undoubtedly mean less revenue even before the new terms land. Reduced revenue will affect "your" massive and frequent divis. And then there are the new terms. Baghdad could decide they don't want any sludge in the mix!! As regards waiting for the expiry of the pipeline agreement and then Erbil/Epicure "going their own way" and building new pumping stations etc sarah the Queen lemming is on drugs again. As BB points out you really need to consider the mess that would come from such a move. As BB says Kurdistan is an area, not a country and is part of Iraq. Their autonomy is slowly being eroded and Baghdad will continue to squeeze Erbil in order to get what they want, imho. Happy to help whilst the share price falls yet again due to false info and the bb BS:-) | bigdog5
19/3/2024 12:42 | Broadford - "The KRG / MNR will have almost no say in the matter." Are you sure about that:- Broadford this morning on LSE - "the only available export pumping- and metering station (built decades ago by Iraq, not the KRG) will still be at Faysh Khabur (actually nearer to village of Dayrabun) and THAT is an issue - as the KRG currently control it." | habshan

19/3/2024 12:21 | SOMO, as the official state sales and marketing organization, will determine the composition of the Export Grade - which grades will go into the blend and in what proportions. The KRG / MNR will have almost no say in the matter. Nothing personal, it's only business... | broadford bay
