hydrocarbon - "Brent is driving this."

Indeed, it's just the market doing what the market does, nothing to worry about, we'll soon be on our way again.

The last payment was for July and was paid at $75.17 Brent.

The average Brent price for this month so far is $82.90 and it's currently at $84.20.

So all looking good.

CNBC a couple of hours ago:-

“With coal and gas prices easing and with the relative strength index technical indicators still in overbought territory, the odds of a sharp, but material fall in oil prices are rising,” said Jeffrey Halley, analyst at brokerage OANDA.

Even so, some analysts are calling for oil to rally even more as OPEC+ is likely to stick to its plan for gradual output increases while demand is expected to reach pre-pandemic levels.

Giovanni Staunovo of Swiss bank UBS said in a report he expected Brent to trade at $90 in December and March.

SOLD BEFORE CHRISTMASHERES WHY ( well ONE OF MANY OBVIOUS REASONS. :) )Imo the co has done their best to flag that to 55K is THEIR PROJECT, and the serious scale field development another thing altogether. If the MNR wanted little old Gkp to do it ,they would have agreed the new FDP years ago .It's been talked about for 5years!!!lolThe company is telling you.Q4 - transition - SOLD to big boys.$100m dividend a year ++. If they had any intention of staying independent operator to 110k and beyond they would use this huge FCF to fund a bond issue instead ....that would raise all the cash they would need to grow. Debt investors would be falling over themselves to finance a company with such a strong covenant. But they paying it OUT instead!!!!! TAKEOVER friendly or otherwise now INEVITABLE . Hostile competition looking far more LIKELY than previous.. FDP submission coming this Q4 will have new OPERATORS NAME on it.

MALCY .....

Oil price

It is fairly quiet in oil markets this week, the underlying is still quite strong but even stock data has been mixed and yesterday’s number was equally unbalanced. Crude itself showed a small drop of 431/- barrels which was better than the API build but as forecast earlier in the week saw impressive draws at Cushing. Stock levels are now 6% below the 5 year average.

Much more interesting was the situation in the product market, gasoline drew 5.4m b’s and distillates fell by 3.9m. With a refinery rate of 84.7% being down 2 points as you might expect at this time of year, as maintenance increases to move from gasoline to heating fuels the major surprise was that gasoline production increased to 10.1m b/d.

The figures on Tuesday on retail gasoline prices did show another rise, your average gallon was $3.322 which was 5.5c up w/w, 13.8c m/m and $1.283 y/y. Buying gasoline in California is still a privilege as you will be rushed $4.53 out west this week.
