A growing number of options traders are betting that an energy crunch this winter may see prices rip higher.

Brent $200 calls for December 2022, options contracts that would profit a buyer from a rally toward that level, traded 1,300 times on Wednesday. While the contracts don’t expire until October next year, they could profit from any sharp spike in prices this winter or next summer.

BigDog5, if one well doesn't come of and one does and they learn something more is that not good enough for you? It is bizarre that company would do completion and announce imminent hook for it then to fail! That would be exceptional. Don't you think it would require time to investigate what happened? Possibly something in time the well was ledt alone during COVID Something that with the correct procedure could be fixed? Maybe with the rig released back?But that wouldn't fit your agenda now would it?BTW I wasn't a fan when you was a ramper not now when you do the opposite..I preferred you when you was a moaner pre restructure. Now a month on from the company announcing S13 was imminent. Actually its probably much longer as likely as not they would have been testing for weeks prior to that "imminent" announcement. So imho it does look like its a failure. That of course means the fabled and much hyped and six year in the making 55k a day will retreat yet again. Will that affect the submitting of the FDP that you desperate clowns are begging for? Looks very much like they're holding off news on S13 and hoping S14 comes good so as to "camoflauge" the outcome for you suckers imho.

China’s central government officials ordered the country’s top state-owned energy companies — from coal to electricity and oil — to secure supplies for this winter at all costs, according to people familiar with the matter.

The order came directly from Vice Premier Han Zheng, who supervises the nation’s energy sector and industrial production, and was delivered during an emergency meeting earlier this week with officials from Beijing’s state-owned assets regulator and economic planning agency, the people said, asking not to be named discussing a private matter.

AgreedHe'd better be off buying GKP stockThe stock price is currently trading at option/warrant levels, at least, a 1,000% discount to any takeover metric price.That's understandable as the investment banks involved have known this for 4 years + and they couldn't build clients such huge positions without suppressing the mkt over that period.
