The Kurdish opposition politicians say billions of dollars are missing from oil export revenue. Kurdish MP and Finance and Economic Affairs Committee deputy Ali Hama Salih said in April 2016, $1.107 billion from Iraqi Kurdistan oil revenue missing in 1st Quarter of 2016.

Salih said lawmakers have evidence that shows Hawrami cost the region hundreds of millions of dollars.

You have to understand that this is two-pronged approach:
1. To remove him from the direct line of fire, by putting him more openly under the wing of his boss (challenge me, challenge my boss).
2. To curtail the "free-ranging power" approach to ruling the (old) fiefdom; the requirement now is to seek approval / consensus and to justify proposals and actions.

It remains to be seen just how meaningful this whole thing will be.

Nechirvan and Masrour disagree about many things - the day-to-day running of the whole energy sector and the financial benefits resulting therefrom is just one of them.

"Fighting corruption" can be understood in several ways, depending on what lens you are using.

Why are you worried, Muttley, that I see this differently from you? People will make up their own minds how they interpret the news so I do not desperately want anyone to believe my take on it. We'll soon know the truth.

Mr H gets even more power as was suggested some time ago and not as the clueless pensioner desperately wants you to believe.

In fact it looks as though he will have the "ear" of the PM on several different matters. That looks to me a promotion as he will now become the "influencer" on many matters. That of course doesn't bode well for the company as all the evidence suggests relations between the two parties isn't good.

More proof that habby doesn't have a clue about anything he talks about:-)

Well there we have it .

Ashti now has an ADVISORY role as ASSISTANT to the PM and his job is to IMPLEMENT decisions rather than formulate them .

He also has to make the tea and choose the biscuits

Well done to the OilyInfant for predicting ....er......the exact opposite !

LOL

It looks to me, NOR, as though Hawrami has had his wings clipped and he is under supervision until the new PM feels he knows where all the bodies are.

Co can hardly make it it much clearer:"Will only hold shares in Treasury if they are required to satisfy VESTING share options"All shares bought so far have gone straight into Treasury! Without a sale happening, no share options can VEST!I was very interested in the final part of the Special resolution, which empowers the Co to buy or acquire any or all stock on any basis they like. The current IN MARKET ket buyback is TRIVIAL scale use of huge hroom, (so almost certainly I'd agree that its stabilisation of price, as the market obviously knows a sale coming and would try to crash the price as it nears.) Far more substantial buyback using the powers of the latter resolution OFF MARKET would be transformative, so hopefully they have.

As me and Broadford said yesterday Cashti to get more power not less.

The reason the ex Div was so unusual was that, it would normally have gone ex Div the entire amount, and the payment splitting was fine, but holders at record did not have to further hold, for Another record date, in the future but not accurately specified at the time! That was why it was so unusual it bamboozled IG too! And they aren't famous for giving cash away, and deal with thousands of Div decs every year.https://twitter.com/Paul47293202/status/1152488910288764928?s=19https://twitter.com/Paul47293202/status/1152535304747794433?s=19

Any sale would be by tender or scheme of arrangement. Almost certainly the latter as it gives buyer certainty that he will be successful (provided he carries 75%of the shareholders vote), so let's hope this is the case. The double record date for dividend was uniquely odd, imo, but it did hugely encourage holders to stay holding, or miss out on 2/3, perhaps that was the whole idea, encouraging retail to hold whilst 28 days or so elapsed pre Sale going public?https://twitter.com/Paul47293202/status/1152488910288764928?s=19https://twitter.com/Paul47293202/status/1152535304747794433?s=19
