27/1/2019 10:45 | What energy are all the majors investing in?Oil this century will be the coal of the 20th century. We've still got at least 20-30 years of high demand, but investment decisions now are looking ahead, you can talk all your silly valuations all you want, or you could start planning how to invest properly with what you've got left | stockport loser
27/1/2019 10:43 | bmo1 - "Yes, Mars sour sounds like it might have a teeny bit H2S." Indeed, and the US currently imports half a million barrels a day of crude from Venezuala. "Venezuela, on average, exported about 500,000 barrels of crude a day to the United States in 2018, according to U.S. Energy Department data." "Sour crude is produced largely in Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, the Canadian province of Alberta, the Gulf of Mexico, Alaska, Saudi Arabia and other parts of the Middle East." "Venezuela's crude oil is very heavy by international standards, and as a result much of it must be processed by specialized domestic and international refineries." "US Coast refineries need heavier crude grades to produce diesel and other high-margin products, and cannot simply sub in light crude." So if that 500kbpd of Venezuelan heavy sour crude which the US seemingly can't get enough of were to be choked off by sanctions, then they would need to source it from somewhere else. Shaikan would fit the bill nicely. | habshan

27/1/2019 09:25 | Stockport Loser - "What about the high sulphur?" What about it? "Sour crude is produced largely in Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, the Canadian province of Alberta, the Gulf of Mexico, Alaska, Saudi Arabia and other parts of the Middle East." | habshan
27/1/2019 08:21 | What about the high sulphur? In a time where even most big oil companies looking at greener energy, SH sludge looks less and less attractive.Of course any additional demand for SHS and you would see a reduction in the massive discount to Brent Gkp get paid, which has not happened so far. That's in addition to the high discount for Krg blend given the legality of the exports. | stockport loser
26/1/2019 21:24 | Lol wouldn't that be something if Shaikan sludge got to be worth more than Brent. | nestoframpers |
