25/7/2024 18:18 | Kurdistan watch 2 hours ago: The Iraqi Parliament's Oil and Gas Committee will soon host representatives from the Iraqi Oil Ministry and the KRG Ministry of Natural Resources. A member of the KDP faction has stated that the KRG is open to having its oil contracts reviewed by Baghdad. "The purpose of this meeting with the ministries is to receive a comprehensive explanation about the agreements made," Sabah Subhi, the KDP member explained. "The Iraqi Oil Ministry has once again requested the companies' contracts, but no action has been taken yet. We need all the information to understand why the process is so delayed and what steps remain to reach a final agreement." He continued, "The contracts in the Kurdistan Region differ from those in the rest of Iraq. There's a request to review and standardize them. To this end, an agreement has been reached between the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad, as the KRG has no objections to this process." | confused _gerbill

25/7/2024 16:50 | "Now why would Baghdad want/need to have a rethink when they can produce oil at $6/7pb versus $26pb in Koruptistan? That ain't good economics." So you think Baghdad can produce oil for $6/7 per barrel Sarah. So who's paying for stuff like this do you suppose:- "A multi-billion-dollar water supply project that is critical for boosting production at Iraq’s southern oil fields is beginning to take shape, with a first phase scheduled for completion in four years. After more than a decade of delays, the Common Seawater Supply Project (CSSP) is finally moving forward. It is one component of the $27 billion Gas Growth Integrated Project (GGIP), which Iraq finalized with France’s TotalEnergies last July." Or maybe you think the IOCs pay for it out of their $6/7 a barrel. What an idiot. | habshan

25/7/2024 15:08 | Now why would Baghdad want/need to have a rethink when they can produce oil at $6/7pb versus $26pb in Koruptistan? That ain't good economics. Then there's the small matter of the value between the quality oil and sludge which is why they want to price the contracts on an individual basis. Then there's the "smuggled oil" and how long will Baghdad be happy about that arrangement before they do something about it. Doesn't look like there's going to be any quick fix anytime soon. But as I said ages ago its very clear what Baghdad's intentions are. They ain't the ones going bust:-) | bigdog5

25/7/2024 14:39 | Shaikan requires fast track development.GKP aren't going to do that/finance that.Hence they have sold up , to allow Major(s) to do so.They don't care about the pipeline.Shaikan merits its own pipelines for both gas and oil. They will build them.GKP is very clearly sold. | bang_gone |
