Joking when I wrote this but things are afoot as the Kurds are not happy.

Given all these attempts at rapprochement with the US,the Kurds could ask to become part of Turkey. They are both Sunni and could supply it with oil through the pipeline and get water in exchange. They more in common with the Turks than the rest of IRAQ and would become part of NATO eventually applying to join The European Union. With the world adopting right wing leaders, consolidation is the key, on the principle that he that is not for us is against us as exemplified by this BB when someone does not show 100% allegience.

We are told in the above Iraq Oil Report article that in February Iraq produced 4.64 million bpd.

We are told in the below article from Offshore Technology that in February the Kirkuk fields produced 2% of that, or 92,800 bpd and that 98.83% of its total recoverable reserves have already been recovered and that it will reach its economic limit in 2029 or 5 years from now.

Today we are told that Kirkuk is now supplying the Daura refinery in Baghdad through a newly refurbished pipeline.

Last week we were told that the newly refurbished Kirkuk Mosul Fishkabour line is or soon will be ready to accept 1 million bpd.

So a field that can produce 92,800 bpd and is in terminal decline has been called on in the last week to supply a refinery in Baghdad and to fill a 1 million bpd pipeline.

So where is all that oil REALLY intended to come from.

Iraq Oil Report.

Today - "Production jumps in February despite quota expectations.

Iraq's countrywide oil output increased by 100,000 bpd, with incremental gains from nine fields across both federal Iraq and Kurdistan.

Iraq's countrywide oil production hit 4.64 million barrels per day (bpd) in February, an increase of 100,000 bpd compared to January, according to an Iraq Oil Report analysis based on field-by-field data.*

The biggest increases came from the West Qurna 1 field in Basra and the Tawke license in Iraqi Kurdistan, both of which raised production by 20,000 bpd from January to February. Seven other fields also posted incremental gains."

"The U.S. has made its position clear: it wants to see KRG oil exports resumed. We’ll continue to pursue it."

45 minutes ago - "U.S. Encourages Better Ties Between Baghdad and Erbil, including Resumption of KRG Oil Exports.

In Tuesday’s meeting with Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, Blinken raised the issue of relations between Iraq’s federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), including the issue of the KRG’s oil exports, which have been blocked for over a year.

The importance of re-starting KRG oil exports was underscored in the State Department press briefing on Tuesday.

State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller affirmed, “The U.S. has been engaged at the most senior levels” on this issue.

“We believe that restarting oil exports through the pipeline would be mutually beneficial to all parties,” he continued, “and because of that reason, that’s why we’ll continue to pursue it.”

Hussein arrived in Washington last week. Among his first meetings was one at the White House with Amos Hochstein, Special Presidential Coordinator for Global Security and Energy Security.

The U.S. has made its position clear: it wants to see KRG oil exports resumed."

"Due to the significance of the oil issues between the federal government and Iraqi Kurdistan, as well as their impact on the companies operating in northern Iraq and the oil market, Hochstein expressed the United States’ eagerness to expand cooperative efforts, particularly in the areas of energy, oil, and gas."

I think we al have to remember that the Iraqi government have already agreed to the legality of our oil production and shipment in their offer of $6. They are simply trying to renegotiate terms that suits the Iraqi government. Since they have many other deals regarding the lifting price with other oilers, arbitration would highlight this and see right through all of these shenanigans.

The sooner Caggins decides to take it to court the better IMO.

Well said.

Everyone wants the oil to flow and somehow a deal will be done even though I doubt whether the government will get the budget amendments through because to put it bluntly they don`t like us. Somehow the oil will flow but look at what happened to the Kurd budget share, payments to teachers etc and you can see the while oil will flow APIKUR et al will not get the all payments as Iraq will somehow find a constitutional reason for delaying, reviewing etc etc and by that time Akipur will find it difficult to stop the oil lest they carry responsibility for payment problems. They trusted the Kurds to pay eventually but we are still owed the money.. Money owed is theoretical. We can deal at $100 a barrel but if we only ever get $10 the real deal is £10.Arbitration hasn`t got Iraq its money. These people are master craftsmen in skills we can only dream of.

Lets wait and see how the Washington promises work out and revised Iraqi budget.

Abird in the hand is worth two in the bush--how true.
