Progress?

However, companies persist in their refusal unless their unlawful conditions are met, which is unacceptable under any circumstances.

It has been done, all of it, to try to gain control of Kurd oilers, cheaply. They have proved they can survive and prosper indefinitely despite all Baghdads efforts to crush them.Baghdad is being forced to come to an accommodation or become an international pariah.

That was certainly a scathing attack from the oil ministry….

Certainly doesn’t bode well for the future…

I actually see this as a good sign. ABICOR. is getting noticed. This means they finally have some presence in the room. And I don't think that iraq has any goodwill, if they could do anything they wouldn't wait this long. They are only trying to show of for their people, and using this as an opportunity to make more excuses. On the other hand, IOCs and KRG are also stalling, as i am from kurdistan i am well aware of what is actually going on behind these companies and the government. However, the big guys, which are US and UK want their Kurdish oil for Europe to further pressure russia and their allies.

The statement from the Iraqi oil ministry is down to one thing and one thing only. Pressure. The president of Turkey wants oil flowing, the US want oil flowing and I would imagine the Iraqi PM wants oil flowing. So now you have the oil ministry feeling the heat because they have behaved with utter incompetence and can’t resolve the issue they know the now have to. Answer. Blame someone else. Utterly predictable and if wasn’t for the terrible impact on Kurdistan it would be laughable.

Well I look forward to APIKUR response to that. Sounds like a face saving exercise especially as no minister has actually put his name to it. ABIKOR lol

It sounds to me as if they are getting worried.

Just for the record if they chose to break or ignore International Law there will be consequences. No more western investment; Iraq blacklisted by major banks. Iraqi assets frozen ( as per Russia) and even sanctions. So dont write it off.

When foreigners start to interfere in politics in a country which is not their own,in cases like this it always ends badly. Do your research!

0. The mentioned association’s statement blatantly interferes in Iraq’s internal and external sovereign affairs, which are unrelated to the companies’ operations. This constitutes an additional violation by the mentioned association and the represented companies, inconsistent with principles of goodwill and foreign investment.
11. The Federal Ministry of Oil, under the government’s guidance, is committed to exerting all possible efforts to resolve disputes and resume exports through the Iraqi-Turkish pipeline in compliance with the constitution and the law. Foreign companies wishing to operate in Iraq must respect the country’s sovereignty, laws, judicial decisions, and adjust their positions accordingly, instead of interfering in sovereign matters related to Iraq’s foreign policy.

Now Hydro warned you all about this months ago. I referred it at the time to forming quasi Unions and how these will fare. Look back!
