14/11/2020 18:44 | basnews ERBIL — The three presidencies of the Kurdistan Region and the political parties are set to meet on Sunday to discuss the recent developments in Baghdad, especially the Funding Deficit Law which has concerned the Kurds. Parliament Speaker Rewaz Fayiq told BasNews that the meeting will work to find a suitable reaction to the law which obliges the Kurdistan Region to handover its oil and non-oil revenues in return for a 320 million Iraqi Dinar monthly payment which is already not enough for only paying the public servants’ salaries. Based on the law that was passed by the Shia and Sunni factions, Fayiq said, an employee in Iraq will receive two salaries at once while the Kurdish employee are left in limbo. The parliament speaker emphasized that they will have to deal with the realities now, and for that, the meeting on Sunday was organized. | nestoframpers

14/11/2020 14:38 | I note that Boris is bringing forward by 10 years the banning the sale of Petrol/Diesel cars. Looks to be a tough call imo opinion but what it certain is that other Govts will want to be seen as "doing their bit" for climate change and will follow. I recall mentioning months ago that it was the beginning of the end for the ICE. If there have been any benefits from the virus that the Chinese are responsible for it has had the effect of cleaning up the planet and there should be no turning back. I'm in no doubt that it was no accident as its well known that the Chinese embarked on a 30 years plan to takeover all. Their Industries gain by them wrecking the West's forcing all to buy even more of their goods. Cheaper than wars innit. Can't be long before the evidence of water in the wells is revealed by announcements of the action they will need to take, imho. | bigdog5

14/11/2020 13:21 | From Rudaw. Erbil (Rûdaw) - Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Mesrur Barzan Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, who shared his post on his social media account, reacted to the 'Debt Law' adopted by the Iraqi Parliament without the approval of the Kurds. Prime Minister Barzani emphasized that there is still time left to compensate for the 'persecution' inflicted by Iraqi parties. Mesrur Barzan “This dangerous incident needs to be corrected urgently. There is still time to compensate for this persecution. (Kurds' share in the budget) is our right, not reward. As we have stated before, Erbil-Baghdad relations should be designed with the principle that the parties recognize each other's rights within the framework of the Constitution. " Last Thursday, the Iraqi Parliament passed the 'Debt Law' without the consent of the Kurds. Under the approved law, a monthly budget of 320 million dollars will not be sent to the Kurdistan Region. In order for the Arbil administration to receive its monthly budget from Baghdad, it must surrender its oil, border and customs revenues to Baghdad. The amount to be delivered to Baghdad from the oil revenues exported by the Kurdistan Region will be determined by the Iraqi Petroleum Marketing Company (SOMO). Kurdish MPs boycotted the session in which the bill was approved. Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani stated that the law in question was accepted without any partnership principle, balance, unity and without heeding the complaints and suggestions of the Kurdish MPs. President Massoud Barzani, on the other hand, emphasized that the law was aimed at repressing the Kurdistan government and stated that with the decision taken in the Iraqi Parliament, "the Kurdish people were stabbed from their backs and the budget was used as a threat card". Still, none of it matters does it, cos we're already sold to the Chinese? | broadford bay
