Let's play guess the RNS - Virtual pint to the winner. Just quote the post and add on your Russell Grant expectations.

Dafydd123 - $52m in the bank, data room still open, still talking to 2 companies, KRG are partners, difficult times due to POO and KRG honouring monthly payments. Will make April Bond Payment of $26m. World class asset, AB and BB to be handed back to Kurds. 5% rise in share price in the morning and closes 6% down.

I hear what you say Rover , I have wanted the Kurds to go alone , Christopher Hitchens and Nomi Chomhsky supported a Kurd homeland too from way back.

People on the street as I see it do not come in to what Zor is pushing , what he is saying I think is that Iraq and Kurdistan will have ADULT SUPERVISION and if they tow the line they will get enough pocket money.Lets face it they have had a go and they can't do it they are too criminal minded and partisan.

Moving power away from Kurdistan back to the cesspit of Baghdad isn't going to improve accountability . It will make it worse . It'll just give the crooks in Erbil the perfect excuse to hide their own crimes . It's all Baghdad's fault , Barzani will say ; the IMF forced us into this . How in God's name will the ICG/IMF be held accountable to the average Joe Kurd in the street ? They have little enough say as it is .

When will you get it into your head , Nest . The Sunnis and Shiites ALL hate the Kurds and a few penpushers from the IMF aren't going to be there on the ground 24hrs a day to help them . They have to help themselves by TAKING power , not surrendering it . Only when the Kurds know exactly who and where the decisions are being made will there be ANY chance of accountability .

There is loads of evidence that Iraq is broke , admittedly it wouldn't be if all the politicians hadn't had their hand in the till , despite the Kurds also robbing the till supposedly they still have much better services that Sth Iraq.

To get to a point where Iraq 'works' financial accountability needs to be there , Zor's idea would have that. No idea what will happen but if something might work it should be tried.

Discussions on funding options will have been on going for ages. They alter in response to what goes on at the MNR. They will be taking account of the Bh's and the interest due and the iceberg looming next year. They wont be waiting for the IMF to act.
