Yes have just seen that, also announcement that the virus has not yet been passed from person to person yet. Can't help thinking the government will be playing this down as much as poss as they dont want to cause a panic. They must have known that someone was close to death for US to say that a some deaths wouldn't be surprising from this, they would never say that unless it was a certainty.

knowing how the americans will react to this news it is going to be front page news everywhere and people will now be panicking.

i can see this impacting retail sales this month as well as oil usage

people wont be heading off to the shopping malls etc etc

could really impact the economy short term

online retailers should do well

GSK to manufacture Swine flu vaccine.

In Britain, the pharmaceutical company GSK will take the lead in manufacturing the new vaccine under a "sleeper contract" with the Department of Health. The contract is agreed in advance to avoid tendering delays in the event of a global pandemic.

I agree, minors, banks etc will be exited by those in charge leaving the small players carrying the dross while they sit comfortably in the quality boring stock.
