28/4/2009 12:07 | Todays close 1105p. All the action will be last 45 minutes of trade today. | montyhedge
28/4/2009 12:04 | Hang on guys we will have take off very soon as the bears whoo have shorted GSK fro the last 3 months start closing postions. Last 45 minutes of trade today going to be very interesting. | montyhedge
28/4/2009 12:02 | Thank you eruditio, as I say, I have never really got involved in dividends before, hence my ignorance (even though I should know this stuff inside out really considering what I do for a living!) All has now become clear though, so thanks again :-) | victoria78
28/4/2009 12:01 | Thats means bears will pay back another 7p loss to them, sometimes shares go higher seen that before, now that would be very nice up + another 14p on price. | montyhedge
28/4/2009 11:59 | eruditio1612, an articulate and intelligent post | lord luc4n
28/4/2009 11:59 | Guys ex div tomorrow 14p, shares normally fall by of course 14p, but tomorrow a lot of professionals including my broker think they will fall only 7p thus gaining another 7p per share, get that dividend. | montyhedge
28/4/2009 11:57 | Hi Vic. Most traders will build the dividend into the price in the days running up to the dividend payment period. Those in it for the dividend and nothing else will have already bailed due to the ownership thing, basically they don't need to hold onto them any longer. So the fall purely due to dividend ownership should already have happened. Hope that helps. | eruditio1612
28/4/2009 11:55 | More stuff unrelated to gsk but related to cds' | spondon
28/4/2009 11:52 | Amazing what a bit of swine flu brings to what was hitherto a fairly quiet and boring share, and corresponding message board... | rikky72
28/4/2009 11:49 | Thanks eruditio, thats what I thought. So is it generally unwise to buy the day before EXDIV day then as you suffer the correction in share price without receiving the payment? I think I am confusing myself as to when the div is priced in - is it ex-div date or when div is actually paid? Don't worry, I've not given up the day job :-) | victoria78
28/4/2009 11:37 | Nice one eruditio1612 , at last, somebody has saved LetsGetBizzay from embarrassment | lord luc4n
28/4/2009 11:36 | Vic no you're not :-) I think we have a stalker in our presence if I'm honest...that Lord Lucan fella is extremely odd! Hope you're ok and wish you luck with this one. What else are you into? x | letsgetbizzay
28/4/2009 11:36 | Hi Vic, You are right. You won't qualify for the dividend until you actually own the shares. When you buy them in a trade a transfer of ownership occurs which normally takes 2-3 days. So you won't qualify for the dividend tomorrow as you won't have held the shares long enough for your ownership to register. R | eruditio1612
28/4/2009 11:35 | LetsGetBizzay, answer Victoria's last point, it's not rocket science | lord luc4n
28/4/2009 11:34 | Maybe I am on the wrong message board actually, judging by the last couple of posts lol | victoria78
28/4/2009 11:34 | I'll ask again, but try to be more specific .. LetsGetBizzay, Care to answer Victoria's question, hardly rocket science, so lets see how you do! | lord luc4n
28/4/2009 11:33 | What a strange boy...I think I'll take advice of others and filter you. Clearly not all there x If you change your mind, drop me an email and maybe we can meet - kakeycooper@ymail.co | letsgetbizzay
28/4/2009 11:32 | Thanks to those that answered my question. For some reason I thought that I had to be holding them 2/3 days before the EXDIV date in order to qualify for a payment. Vic | victoria78
28/4/2009 11:28 | Oh dear, you're clearly an amateur | lord luc4n
28/4/2009 11:26 | I don't understand what you want me to say...I don't really care about the divi because my trading pattern doesn't revolve around divs (I won't say the obvious)... I would suggest if Vic is holding tomorrow she will entitled to a div payment whenever that may be. Now please explain why you felt the need to copy that Money Morning article word for word x | letsgetbizzay
28/4/2009 11:21 | LetsGetBizzay, try and be more specific with the divi, go on try | lord luc4n
28/4/2009 11:19 | There's already been an answer to her question so it'd be pointless me answering it...would it not? I suppose you can explain why you tried to pass off the Money Morning article as your own thoughts my darling. It wasn't very bright now was it... May I suggest some water sports. It will relieve any tension you have and perhaps give you a new lease of life. I wouldn't mind if you shot your load all over my face, its one of my favourite pastimes actually xxx | letsgetbizzay |
