Apparently some shops are open in the Newcastle area during the trial.

The plan is to open all 700 stores by 8 June...

I'm going to hang on and hope for the best, I think. The management have done well for us in the past and deserve our confidence now.

Im thinking of buying in just trying to time it right .Buffett that i follow says dont try to do that even he cant do it but i think these will rise then drop as i see footfall drop soon after. These large stores no changing rooms like primark .People working from home but this has big advantages on cafes that will have big trouble .Might be overthinking it lol .GL

Tempted to take up a position here for the first time. I’d be happy if I can get in at 15 think over the long term can’t go wrong at those prices. Also think the moment we hear they are reopening could be a nice tradable jump.

Good luck to those already in

They still are a great company with solid finance behind them.I have some at £20 and some at £21.When they dropped I bought more at 16 and sold at 18 so not so behind now.Might buy more if they go Lower and do it again. But I don't think they will.As the lock down is eased they will slowly rise.Just hold and be patient. If you have spare cash buy Lloyds at this knock down price and hold that too.

The guy makes the point if you see a lot of starbucks now you aint seen nothing yet .They will buy up small independants that will go to the wall and come out stronger .It could happen to greggs but short term profits will be hit over 2 million unemployed at least and a lot working from home .A vaccine found happy days but could be at least 12 months away .Anyway thats what i believe .GL

Short term bouleversee i can only see things getting worse .But thats my opinion .In the long run good companies will do well a lot will go to the wall .Its if you can hold on a couple of years

Anyone selling? Anyone buying?

They were a great company and I am reluctant to sell when the price is so low but nor do I have the confidence to buy more. My whole p/f is shot and I feel like a rabbit caught in the headlights.

It may be difficult for now for Greggs but when you have a company having to abandon a re-opening of some stores because of they believe crowds will gather and possibly overwhelm their health and safety measures - well when you think of it - that normally only happens to major pop stars - and so when the band gets back together the tickets sales here will sell out in minutes and their album "My Sausage Roll with it" will be number one fora long time ha ha

Clive Black, analyst at Shore Capital, said: “The coronavirus crisis is a disaster for Greggs. Full-year 2020 will see an earnings and dividend wipe-out. We would expect rebuilding in the years thereafter but with a somewhat depleted balance sheet.

“Indeed, social distancing and behavioural change, less commuting and a decline in employment, could represent a perfect storm for Greggs.”

Greggs closed all of its 2,050 stores on March 24 due to concerns it would not be able to operate safely during the pandemic. It has placed the majority of its 25,000 staff on furlough and been in discussions with landlords to reduce its rental bill.

'Draft post-lockdown workplace rules contain 'huge gaps' - TUC'

......Buzzfeed has seen all seven draft documents. In guidance for hotels and restaurants, it reports that the proposed measures include bar areas, seated restaurants and cafes being kept closed, with all food and drink outlets to serve takeaways only.

I think theres a recession coming that will be quite bad Il be buying into all good companies for the longterm but this will drop in the short term imo .Buy for 5 years not 5 mins .
