Low volumes in Greggs today, hence the lack of movement. Waiting for US market to open and this will rise. I see £25 before February, before we get a run up to £32 by october. Then should come back down to £30 by the end of the year.

Busiest small shop I have ever seen in vegan friendly Brighton North St. ALWAYS 6-10 queuing to the door and another outlet opened near the railway station has not changed this one bit and I swerve re delay. Need more openings

Not what you'd call flat on the graph I am looking at. I think it may have got a bit ahead of itself 6 months ago but I certainly wouldn't be shorting now (not that I ever do short). It would be interesting to know how you two arrive at your contrasting valuations.

Morning report..

Bakery chain Greggs was weaker after saying it would pay £7m to employees as it delivered a tasty 13.5% rise in full-year sales but warned of cost inflation and comparative headwinds ahead.

Financial position and outlook

We have finished 2019 in a very strong financial position, despite having made significant investments in our strategic programmes and having enhanced shareholder returns by the payment of a special dividend of GBP35 million in October 2019. In the context of this exceptional year the board has agreed to make a special payment to employees, in recognition of their crucial contribution to business success. All of our colleagues will share in a one-off payment costing GBP7 million which will be paid at the end of January.

With strong momentum in the business there are clear opportunities for further growth as we begin to invest in new ways to make Greggs more accessible and convenient for customers. In particular we expect to scale up successful elements of our trials in the extension of trading hours and by making delivery more widely available.

We see a number of cost headwinds in the year ahead and expect these to be higher than we have seen recently, as National Living Wage costs increase faster than general inflation and the cost of pork continues to rise significantly. As usual we will seek to mitigate as much of this as is possible through business efficiency, but will also ensure that our prices continue to represent great value.

Given the strength of trading in the latter part of 2019 the Board now expects that full year underlying profit before tax, after the cost of the special payment to employees, will be slightly higher than our previous expectations when we report our preliminary results for 2019 on 3 March 2020.

They have performed brilliantly and having given my certificated holding to grandkids I intend to hang on to my Isa holding but where do you think the price will go from here, bearing in mind that so many other companies are now producing vegan food? Is it still worth topping up or should we just stick at this point and look for another bright spark for fresh money? Not easy to spot at the moment, however.

Thats a very decent trading update, nice to see the company sharing out some cash for the employees with a special payment.

Thought I would try a vegan sausage roll for research, it was alright, the taste of salt was overpowering. Would never try another one.

If they are overpriced, why are people queuing up to buy their products? The price of the steak bake seemed quite reasonable to me and it seems to have gone down well. Don't bank on making money if you are a shorter.
