29/3/2019 11:56 | Been watching Greggs now for a while now and was about to take the plunge when they were 1200 or so but held on. Wish I had bought then. Results were really good and I think next years will be better. Unfortunately the PE ratio is sky high now so hoping for a retrace. I spend a lot of the time on the road. I see Greggs at so many places now. Driving to Southampton stopped at a garage which had a Greggs Concession in the building. The garage sells all sorts of stuff, sandwiches drinks etc. No one buying them -Huge queue in the Greggs buying their bacon rolls and coffees. This is at 7.00am. Next day in Avonmouth early in morning looking for somewhere to buy a coffee and see another Greggs on a small shopping precinct. Again huge queue, all the blue collar guys getting their morning food. I ask what time did you open. 6.30am. The early hours really capture all these guys who generally start work at 8am. Prices are very good and tons of these guys want to start the day with a hot bacon roll and coffee for less than £3. Providing this is profitable then this is such a good business | clodgy view

07/3/2019 09:43 | I usually buy and hold shares forever and on the rare occasions I sell, I later have reason to regret it. This is such a case! "jeffian - 26 Jan 2017 - 12:21:40 - 2940 of 3456 Greggs with Charts & News - GRG I like Greggs. I sold out at around £5 a few years ago after a profit warning, the long-term CEO had changed, they were changing their 'model' from in-store to centralised bakeries and I was worried about the amount of competition on the High Street from the likes of Subway and myriad sandwich bars. How wrong could you be?!" | jeffian

06/3/2019 13:21 | Will investors (sausage) roll out the red carpet for Greggs following Thursday’s full year results? The retailer was basically just boasting with its last statement in February, revealing its vegan sausage roll had helped drive like-for-like sales 9.6% higher across the first 7 weeks of 2019, an announcement sent the stock towards its current all-time highs. To justify its recent surge then Greggs needs to ideally surpass that £88 million pre-tax profit target floated back in January, while updating on its performance across the last couple of weeks (it did mention that the rate of growth had ‘eased slightly’ in February).
