Space: The new mining engineer being advertised for by Newcrest for Havieron is only wanted till December 2022 so 18 months.

So assume you can expect first metals before then

I wonder when we're likely to see the first metals being delivered by Havieron?

It's he old spread game, keep the mid price pretty level on open and close but move the price from bid to offer are needed to make it look like a falling knife and closing in the red every day. What's going to move us back up?

The market seems to be trying very hard to make this look like it is down every day. In reality it's been flat for about 3 weeks now. I reckon that means it is now refuelled and ready to take off again.

pr0t0n.

You are absolutely right. They have long past make your mind up time, still sitting on the fence. If they are not interested in cobalt, then sell it.I am sure there will be no shortage of buyers who will see the potential of this at current prices. The demand will increase taking the cobalt price with it.

ref:cobalt

Processing plant at Telfer can handle 24 million tons per annum.
It`s gold/copper operation, so anything other (cobalt for example) would be
costly to process.
They reported cobalt grades couple of times if I remember.
Panorama is gold/cobalt, but we heard nothing for 3 years.
As I speculated a few times, we may see restructuring, too many idle projects.

Yes I cannot see them taking more rubbish to Telfer than they have to.
There will still be a lot of Muck (at that point) to shift, with even a 10 year payback there will be considerable investment needed for the transportation of the Ore/muck, be it Train, Trucks or conveyor.

We know that the copper is high grade also but the cobalt seems to be forgotten which is an additional highly valuable asset?

Great links guys for alternative methods of transporting the ore from Havieron to Telfer. Very enlightening. We are still at the early stages but from what we are seeing Newcrest are going hammer and tongs. 24/7 365 to get the ore out of the ground to feed Telfer. I've watched many videos. Especially the one from Newcrest re block caving which they are pioneers. The amount of ore they will be transporting from Havieron to Telfer for the next 15 - 20 years is going to be astronomical. I'm sure they will have to set up a pre production plant at Havieron to sift the wheat from chaff before transportation of the high grade ore though?

Mike, it was just a thought although I hadn't considered the benefit of solar which will not only give the green angle but create ongoing savings. Tel, I think it was him? Posted a list of up and coming news release dates but I can't find it. But have a feeling next week may be the start. Hope so?Zoo

Zoo: It must be in sections as a belt 200k long would stretch too much, but solar panels on the side or near to a new construction seems feasible, it may only need to run when the sun shines, WA is a pretty sunny place.

More green that trucks or a train, given the expected years of life of the mine or Mines supplying Telfer.

Zoo,

Yes, possibility, it`s 45 kilometers from HAV to Telfer, so hard to know.
NCM``s engineers and logistics guys have a better idea than me :-)
Found this, almost 100km.

Zoo:In situation they are most of the year they have sun, a set of conveyors would most like move the much using solar panels to provide electric for free, with generator backup.

They are apparently still doing nothing with their cobalt deposit. It has been shunted on their back burner.

If you were to dismantle and move the cost of doing that would be huge , not even sure if that would even be possible.
Telfer is not only processing plant, it`s like 5 star resort with swimming pool, basketball court, tennis courts, medical clinic, library and accomodation.
They may settle with the short train track, I dont know.
Road trains as well.

Food for thought. I know Havieron is only 45km from Telfer and with the super truckers in Australia moving millions of tonnes of ore 24/7 is straight forward. Obviously a short train track would be a lot more efficient. They did it daily with coal in the UK all across with coal being worth a fraction of the price. I'm wondering if it would be more cost effective/efficient if they brought the Telfer ore body processing plant to Havieron depending on the next and future set of results if it has a 15 - 20 year life span. Also if Greatland Gold hit the bullseye at Scallywag within the next year or two would make more economical sense maybe?

Just throwing it out there?
