Well, who are the real owners of GCAT? Would be interesting to know....

Well we all know about GKG he has orchestrated this whole deal?

The value of the holding will depend on how GCAT do.

They say that they have accumulated $14,000 in royalty. I make that about 800ozs in the 4 months since the completion of the sale in April.

IIRC they were promising 50kozs pa in 12 - 18 months.

I also notice that GKG has been given 55 million shares, which is about half of GDP's.

No point crying over spilled milk. It is what it is and looking to the future is what matters now. Dividend sure would be nice and will boost the SP?

GCAT currently a 0.85p bid making the GDP stake worth £875k or $1.2m - so far it seems to have been the right thing to accept the shares rather than demand the $1.05m in cash.

Given the market valuation of GCAT, it does seem a shame that they couldn't recapitalise Kili themselves and spin-off the equity, however, the way this has been done is much lower risk to GDP and should accelerate the timeline to the return to paying dividends.

I was in GDP for years. Never could understand the under valuation. Great business model but I hardly made a bean.

cameron, I'm pretty much aligned to your views on the deals. In terms of price spikes, GDP does tend to move in short bursts. There appears to be a delayed reaction to gold price movements which can be useful in timing trades. I don't see spikey movements within a 2p trading range as volatile though, just a feature of GDP trading.

A lot depends on the definition of volatile - I think there have been spikes both up and down of about 10%, some of which are unexplained and been reversed within days- put it down to being an AIM share.
I agree that the share price is under valued which is why I hold the shares.

There are question marks over the 2 deals
KIli - I have been of the opinion for many years that Kili was a liability and not an asset. We would have been far better off to have given it to DEMITRI when he left many years and millions£ ago.
AS regards the SA minority buyout - time will tell. The minority interests were bought out above net asset value at the time of the transaction. It will be interesting to look back in future years to see the earnings we got for the possible overpayment. Also to be considered is the share of profits, hopefully large in respect of the TSF which are included in the deal.
I think we will have to wait till next March to learn of dividends when the interim results are announced. I am not convinced that it is as bad a deal as some make out and it is quite possible it could be a very good deal

cameron, I wouldn't exactly call the share price volatile. For the last year it has basically traded in a 6.5p - 8.5p range with few movements outside 7p - 8p. In fact, I would say the share price is sleeping and lethargic.

The underlying fundamentals suggest we should be trading well over 10p and probably over 15p. The share price has been able to ignore fundamentals for a number of years and LTH's are patiently waiting for recognition.

In terms of recent price movements, there have been 2 big pieces of corporate action - both involving insiders. If the Papillon market capitalisation is to be believed, we sold Kili below value. In terms of the SA deal, we paid full price for an asset which is reflected at less than half that value within the GDP price. I believe the price has retreated due to a perception those deals were poorly negotiated.

Ultimately, we want the market to move GDP towards what we believe fair value to be. I suspect it will take dividends to trigger that move.

It amazes me the volatility in the share price of GDP.
The S price fell on the y/e update. Although a bit disappointing, they were very good compared with 2 or more years ago. It was a bit light on detail which may be rectified when the final results are published. The price recovered yesterday before dropping back - the recovery can be considered rational but no valid reason for dropping back!!
I suspect that we may have to wait for new year as the update for the reorganisation said they only anticipate paying dividends out of profits earned post 1/7/21.
The recent profitability indicates that there could be plenty of head room for significant or generous dividends, which could help the share price.
The final accounts will give us an indication of the potential for the level of dividends

Cash is king. They should never have accepted anything else.

I suppose yesterday's drop is in response to the Papillon prospectus. Essentially, they have injected £4.9m and declared that the market cap is £14m, giving GDP 7.17% of the shares (£1m worth based on the declared market cap).

If you said that Kili was worth £1m and with the £4.9m capital injection, overall capital value might get to £6m. That would mean our 7.17% ownership would only be worth £400k. Through over-stating the market capitalisation, they have underpaid GDP.

From being entitled to £1.5m payment in cash, we have ended up owning only 7.17% of Kili instead (and presumably £0.5m of cash payments, as laid out in the prospectus).

agreed, Michael. If Gold breaks $1670 we might get better levels, but otherwise GDP below 7p is a steal.

I suppose the worry is that our 2 major corporate actions have involved related parties and it is possible to say GDP paid too much for SA and received too little for Kili. I don't subscribe to either view.

I think it is frustration, Papillon valued at more than GDP!! 14.5MGBP
I think that says it all!

Why on earth not bring in an investor to Kili ourselves at a value of lets say 10MGBP for Kili....
