I feel the need for big pharmas to survive in these times is very high and they will.

Let's visit sub £10 before then. The balance sheet has been weakened by the dividend policy and will need to recover. The price paid will be the disloyalty to the dividend seekers. Pain will be greatest when USA gets really hit hard with cases.

Ref the divi I have written off the next year altogether for shares I hold. Some will pay some will not.Like the share price itself think you need to look longer term and not worry to much about the short term.

The three stocks I reckon every income investor should have, good yields, dividend cheque on the doormat every 13 weeks.Shell, GSK and HSBC. My core holding.

spud, if you are particularly interested in income, HFEL may be worth a least monitoring. Unfortunately usually very little discount o NAV because it's popular with income seekers. Usually best looked at on a... world is ending day.

Who cares, seriously, the markets may well have priced it in already. Worst case they skip 2 or 3 payments?, big deal. The share price is nearly £4.50 a share lower in just a few weeks, a quarterly dividend in that context is a blip.

Rubbish, one of the safest dividend paying shares, cheque on the doormat every 13 weeks.

Yes....they can now safely cut dividend under cover of covid. It will preserve cash for the very difficult year ahead.

Not necessarily toast but could be reduced, yes, that's feasible. If it's purely based on first quarter January and February were already in the bag really until things really hit. However, they may, looking ahead, choose to up their cash reserves to weather the storm in Q2 and beyond. As has already been mentioned though, any hits felt here will be broadly similar elsewhere.

Michael, I think the dividend may be in some doubt over the next 12 months, in the grand scheme of things it's not really an issue.
