14/4/2020 22:38 | "GSK and Sanofi, two of the world's biggest pharmaceutical giants, are joining forces to try and create a vaccine to stop the spread of Covid-19. The bad news is that the vaccine - even if it is successful - will not be ready till the second half of next year. GSK's chief executive Emma Walmsley told the BBC that vaccines usually take a decade to develop and test. A plan to make a vaccine available in just 18 months was a huge acceleration of the normal process, she said................ | eeza
14/4/2020 20:37 | Hmmm. James Robb respected scientist, talks a lot of sense about avoidance. Doubt the zinc would make a huge deal of difference, I guess in theory if you received a marginal viral load it may make a difference. Zinc sulphate is a non toxic soluble form, guess there are others, it is the zinc that is allegedly the “API”. Doubt it would do any harm to take it. Two trials using chloroquine have been stopped due to side effects. Haven’t seen the data but given the near 50% mortality in the severe cases I’m guessing any benefit is marginal. Certainly not a miracle cure. | dr biotech
14/4/2020 19:40 | @Xeppo, Zinc sulphate, rather than Zinc. Sorry, cant elaborate. Not a degree holder in chemistry. Ask Dr Biotech if he is around - presumably he is suitably qualified! | crossing_the_rubicon
14/4/2020 19:32 | Crossing_the_Rubicon Please enlarge on the importance of Zinc if you can. Of interest: search US virologist 'James Robb: Coronovirus'. As well as the known recommendations for avoiding the virus, James Robb recommends lozenges with Zinc. The Zinc in mucous membrane may prevent the viruses lodging in the throat etc ('Coldeeze' obtainable from the USA) Holland & Barratt's Zinc tablets's labels refer to Zinc boosting Immunity. Sambucol lozenges obtainable in the UK contain Zinc. ' 'First Defence' made by the Vick Vapour Rub' company, is a nasal spray containing Zinc is believed to debilitate viruses that enter the nasal passages IMHO. Some medics suggest that no 'over the counter' medication is currently useful. Any information/ideas, for or against Zinc, or any over the counter medicine would be welcomed. | zeppo
14/4/2020 17:31 | TraderMichael "Either way, hydroxychloroquine doesn’t work immediately. It may be 12 weeks or longer before you notice any benefit (if you're still with us)" Incorrect. It works far faster and needs to be taken in conjunction with Z-Pac and Zinc Sulphate. Zinc is apparently key. | crossing_the_rubicon
14/4/2020 16:30 | They are not stupid - it is a race as there are loads of companies with vaccines imminent. They will hide the profit in development costs. | paulisi

11/4/2020 16:17 | We’ll find out soon if it has any benefit. It’s not the miracle cure that some say it is though and to advocate taking it to prevent infection is ridiculous. Trump and facts have a casual relationship at best | dr biotech

11/4/2020 08:14 | waikenchan: "I believe the vaccine is a folloy.
