Great point.

GFIN's user base is valued at about a quarter of EGLX's (which itself is valued at a tenth of other gaming platforms' user bases).

It makes GFIN an attractive acquisition to EGLX (or other companies) wanting to increase their user base quickly in this area.

EGLX have an aggressive acquisition strategy and have made 10 acquisitions since the start of 2018.

The article Luke posted yesterday also mentions M&A:

'As such, its hard to ignore the incredible transformation that is happening and the inherent investment opportunities it presents. No other sector is more well-positioned to experience growth in both the short and long-term. These events will not only create an influx of institutional money to flow into the industry but it will also create a flurry of M&A as new participants look to enter the proverbial ring. As such, the current landscape offers investors an incredible opportunity at a time when there aren’t many places to invest. Early data would suggest that like 2008, the esports industry is poised to write a similar script, by once again offering investors a recession-proof investment opportunity in 2020!'

Thanks, this makes for interesting reading, page 18 shows comparisons of per user values for twitch, Reddit, discord and eglx. Using the same cost per user as they value eglx, proposes Gfinity is worth 28m GBP depending wether you include socials. These are already 10 times lower per user than the valuation paid by amazon for twitch.

I’d value the growing F1 fans a premium user base which can’t be replicated like other esports could be too!

This is the latest presentation from EGLX:

EGLX have 160 million monthly visitors to their websites and YouTube channels.

EGLX generated $6.3m in 3 months ($25m annualised) from these 160m visitors. They state in their presentation that their goal is to raise the revenue per user to $0.4.

GFIN reached 20 million gamers on their websites in March, and more than 50 million if the respective social media channels are added.

GFIN have stated that revenues from these visitors to their sites is expected to reach £2m by 2021.

It’s not an exact science but it’s useful to apply the EGLX advertising metrics to GFIN.

Using EGLX’s Q4 ad revenue per user and applying it to only GFIN’s 20m website visitor equates to revenue of £1.8m per annum.

Using EGLX’s goal of $0.4 per user would equate to £4.6m revenue to GFIN.

On top of this there is the monetisation of the 30 million social media visitors. It seems that GFIN’s large viewer base is a potential gold mine (and the viewer numbers are increasing rapidly).

Thanks Luke,

Reading across from EGLX’s valuation of $120m makes the GFIN valuation look very cheap. GFIN will be valued at c.£8m at the current share price, once all the new shares are issued.

EGLX looks like a larger version of GFIN, running esports events and having their own Media channels (websites and YouTube). In addition they also manage their own esports teams.

EGLX are doing well at monetising their Media channel viewers via ad revenue. In fact, this is their largest income stream. In Q4 2019 their total revenue was $9.2m (CAD), of which $6.3m was from their Media channels.

I can see why GFIN are so keen to focus on monetising their own Media channels.

Perhaps the overhang has gone and we're free to move up.

The Vietnam Virtual GP views on YouTube look like they are going to come in much higher than the previous race (Bahrain).

The Vietnam videos have been out for 3 days vs two and a half weeks for Bahrain.

The highlights video has had 1 million views and is already slightly ahead of the Bahrain highlights video. The full race video has had 1.7 million views vs 1.8m for Bahrain.

More impressive since there may be some confusion around the latest videos which reduces search results. (The latest Virtual GP replaced the real Vietnam GP, but because this is a new circuit for 2020 it doesn’t appear in the F1 2019 game and was therefore raced on the Australian circuit – Albert Park. The highlights video doesn’t even mention a circuit in the title).

Shanghai Virtual GP next though, and that’s definitely in F1 2019!

The first block of placing shares were due to start trading today. Once that overhang is gone I'm hoping we move up quite quickly.

It is also strengthening its balance sheet with a conditional raise of £2.25m at 1p/share plus a 1:1 warrant. COVID-19 has driven a surge in video gaming and in traffic to Gfinity’s own platforms and has created opportunities, such as the F1 Esports Virtual Grand Prix series.

It has also created an increased level of uncertainty for the rest of FY20, however, with major live physical events deferred. Consequently, we are withdrawing forecasts in the interim.

476k peak concurrents online for our #F1Esports Vietnam #VirtualGP, smashing our Bahrain numbers just 2 weeks ago. Trending number 1 on YouTube right now! What a fun race it was. Congratulations to our superstar Charles Leclerc! He picked up the game just 8 days ago and took a convincing win on his esports debut in Albert Park (as the Hanoi circuit is not in F1 2019 video game). Pure talent. And to George, congrats on your maiden podium ;)More to come. Next stop China!Stay safe everyone. #RaceAtHomehttps://www.linkedin.com/posts/martin-wyatt-5808a178_f1esports-virtualgp-raceathome-activity-6652848975017844736-Yaxy

'He has beaten Lando Norris, Nico Hulkenberg, Stoffel Vandoorne and Nicholas Latifi. But it took place on a virtual track.

Nineteen-year-old Dani Bereznay from Hungary is an official esports Formula 1 driver for Alfa Romeo, ranked in the world’s top three esports F1 drivers and, during lockdown, he’s beaten all of the above in virtual tournaments.

On Sunday, he will race in an F1 Esports Pro Exhibition Race that follows a virtual grand prix put on by Formula 1 and featuring F1 and F2 drivers, alongside England cricketer Ben Stokes.'
