08/5/2017 17:35 | I Think so He somehow manages to get them much cheaper than the mkt price so guess those at 29/30 are also director buys We shall see soon enough.. | big7ime
08/5/2017 17:24 | Some interesting late trades reported, especially the 300k purchase. Hopefully a Director buy ! | the big fella
08/5/2017 12:56 | Every little helps, and more or less flows to the bottom line due to the fixed cost nature of GTC! | boonkoh
07/5/2017 20:20 | I think a few others did, the share price went down on the day! It's not an enormous contract - 8 companies picked up deals totalling £1.5m but the GTC work share looked more valuable then some to my biased eyes. So maybe £300k at a guess. But more to come from the OGA. | cockerhoop
06/5/2017 21:35 | Completely missed this the other day: 02 May 2017 Getech Extends Support to the OGA As part of their ongoing commitment to encourage further activity in under explored areas of the UK Continental Shelf (UKCS), the Oil and Gas Authority (OGA) has announced the purchase of a comprehensive suite of subsurface datasets and other information sources. Getech, an existing OGA supplier and providers of data and information expertise to the natural resources sector, was awarded a further contract; for the supply of satellite derived gravity data covering the entire UKCS. The package of data sold is a subset of an innovative global dataset developed by Getech through the combination of newly available satellite altimetry with advances in our proprietary processing methods. This has enabled Getech to create a spectacular new gravity data set with comparable resolution to conventional regional 2D ship borne surveys. | yump
07/4/2017 19:23 | Hadn't realised the results were out, as they're not that important right now imo. However It Looks pretty sensible to me. I know a few big contracts can have a huge impact here as we have Seen in the past, it's cyclical and the price of oil is still key but less so now if that makes sense I mean I am invested for the upswing in business from the recovery in oil, the share price looks dirt cheap and chart good for that recovery so for me it's one to tuck away. I like the management and have confidence it will turn around again so I'm comfortable keeping and hardly monitoring at all | big7ime
06/4/2017 12:15 | I think the traders have come and gone 30p up to 40p and back, on the basis of the promising RNS's. It looks like a recovery-style chart atm. Riskier than larger cyclicals, but I'm assuming the recovery, given improving prospects and cost reductions in H2, will compensate for the higher risk in a year or so. They certainly seem to have a few fingers in new pies. | yump
06/4/2017 11:35 | Interims out today so the post header is correct, nobody does care! fwiw they show signs of optimism, probably a decent long term buy if oil holds up. | tiswas
07/3/2017 20:30 | 60P HERE WE COME | hybrasil
16/2/2017 21:28 | one million shares traded today at 43p. That has to be good news | hybrasil
14/2/2017 11:44 | So it remains to be seen if admin. costs are decreasing then... May simply be down to revenue stabilising and then increasing a bit then, to see where profits are going. | yump
14/2/2017 10:38 | H2 admin costs were bolstered by £800k-plus 'write back' relating to the contingency consideration for ERCL. See post 1551. | tmfmayn
14/2/2017 10:14 | Just been looking at cost of sales and admin. costs. In particular the admin. costs were 1.97mln first half and 2.8mln for the full year. Previously they've been the same. So it appears they have knocked a big chunk out of admin. costs in the second half, which would tie up with the fact they have mentioned cost reduction. Cost of sales looks more difficult to fathom. It looks to have been higher than previously in 2016, by the look of it because the first half was higher. Given how highly geared GTC are to an increase in revenue, if they've actually taken 800k out of admin. and go back to a similar cost of sales as in the past, there could be a profit surprise here, IF they get increased, or perhaps even the same revenue. Profit of 1.1mln gave earnings of 3.2p, so 800k of admin. costs gone is a lot in proportion. 4p earnings under improved conditions would look easy-peasy. PS Having had a flurry of volume recently, it looks to be moving on not very much again... | yump
14/2/2017 10:07 | WH Ireland has it under review, so nothing out there at present. | hastings
14/2/2017 09:56 | Struggling to find any forecasts at the moment. I'm sure there were some which seem to have evaporated. It must be very difficult even for GTC to look ahead to this year's end with any certainty. There doesn't seem to have been a trading statement before interims before, so looks like April before anything appears, apart from more contracts. So the cautiously optimistic AGM statement seems to be the only thing to go on, plus a bit of guesswork that the factors that caused the drop in profits have now partly reversed. ie. potential exploration increase, as a result of supply reduction (OPEC) and lack of investment for some years. | yump
14/2/2017 08:01 | Could just be a smallish order to start with. I'd guess by the wording there are a number of contracts being given out for doing different aspects of the overall project. They say its the start of longer term work, so looks promising. Hopefully GTC have weathered the storm with cost reductions and small acquisitions and put themselves in a good position for capturing some decent chunks of work, once exploration starts to expand again. Lets hope the name doesn't reflect the level of bureauocracy in the organisation ! | yump
14/2/2017 07:50 | Snappy name. An indication of the sums involved, size and duration of the contract would be helpful | zoolook
31/1/2017 07:21 | Judging by yesterday, looks like some people have 45p as a technical sell as it blipped up above and then back. Its not a big resistance area though. | yump
30/1/2017 23:02 | Well I was wrong. But good to see some trading at this level | hybrasil
28/1/2017 23:28 | Looks like it could move quite a bit more on Monday. See that last trade | hybrasil
27/1/2017 20:17 | Jump most likely due to HSR buy rec 2.30 this afternoon. | ironman22
27/1/2017 18:47 | Well it does remain to be seen whether the rise is just people getting in because its come off the bottom, or whether there are tangible improvements going on at GTC yet. There appear to be a fair few hints, but I'd like to see something in black and white soon. I guess some of the gains are due to the combined effect of OPEC cutting production, the years of underinvestment and the rise in demand helping to use up a lot of the glut. There seem to have been a lot of general oil sector tips over the last couple of months. Something on fool.com: | yump
27/1/2017 18:35 | Reqlly popped om just a small amount of volume. Hope it's not a boiler room scam. | boonkoh
27/1/2017 18:05 | Told you this was only worth 17p!.........humble pie, eaten :) | discodave4 |
