25/1/2013 07:29 | Great set of results for 9 months. 9 months revenue $182m (should be $250m full year). Revenues up 147%. Earnings per share up 160 fold from .0024c to almost 40c/share (9 months). Current oil and gas production is now up to 13,200 boepd. | zengas
02/1/2013 15:24 | Sailing John,I have a decent sized holding here. Hopefully we can see the share price double this year. Was reading an article regarding the Israel/Iran situation. With a quite possible strike by Israel on Iran. Not a scenario I particularly want to happen, but one that is looking increasingly likely. Oil at around $170 a barrel if that should occur. I would reckon oil companies in unaffected parts of the world might command a premium then. For all the advances in technology the world is not more stable. In fact it seems to be the opposite. Cheers,Niels | nielsc
02/1/2013 12:49 | Hi Niel Having added a couple of times on the recent dip this is now my largest holding. Minimal down side risk other than exposure to oil prices that everyone suffers. I'm impressed with recent drilling results and agree with Zen's post above. Happy New Year SJ | sailing john
02/1/2013 12:11 | Happy New Year to the regulars (can almost count them on one hand!). Hopefully we will see a decent rerating of gpk this year as they continue to prove themselves. Cheers,Niels | nielsc
02/1/2013 11:58 | I don't believe there is enough free stock about which makes it difficult to pick up a significant amount. The bid needs to go up by a considerable amount to tempt holders to part with their shares. However, with such massive potential it is difficult to see shares being sold for at least less than double the present bid price. All IMHO & DYOR. | tyler90
02/1/2013 09:12 | More valuable Oil production increasing. Further success acheived. Back over 12,500 boepd. 2/1/2013 GeoPark drilled and completed the Tua 2 well to a total depth of 3,374 metres. A test conducted with an electrical submersible pump (ESP) in the Guadalupe formation, at approximately 2,225 metres, resulted in a production rate of approximately 1,722 barrels of oil per day ("bopd") of 15.6deg API oil, with less than a 1% water cut. 45% interest so we are adding about 400-450 bopd net from each Tua well. Tua 1 well, which is currently producing at a rate of approximately 927 bopd. The Tua 3 well, drilled in November 2012, is currently producing at a rate of approximately 982 bopd. Both Tua 1 and Tua 3 wells are being produced from the Mirador formation. (This should see todays Tua 2 produce at a similar 900+ bopd). Lokks like a significant structure. Quote - "contains multiple drilling opportunities". Tua 4 and 5 to be drilled in Q2. Potential to drive towards 20,000 boepd and that's my target. Loads of drilling to come so 7,500 boepd of new production is very realistic. Certainly very cheap at £290m (+ circa £85m debt due end 2015 - 3 years away). 60 mmboe P2 and new reserves to be added. Exceeding 12,500 boepd and major numerous block interests. Compared to Amerisur at approaching 5k bopd and still under 10 mmbo P2 and a valuation of £475m - that leaves GPK total valuation at £375m and £100m cheaper, yet has higher reserves, production and revenues. | zengas
02/1/2013 08:47 | HAPPY NEW YEAR! Oops sorry if you were hibernating but we have further drilling news Geopark - Colombia 45%WI - Tua 2 successful at at initial 1722bpd Tua1/3 both producing at about 1000bpd and 4/5 due to complete in 2Q13 News coming in rather frequently! SJ | sailing john
29/12/2012 15:51 | thanks sj.....as you say even better news in that case. hny to all holders - lets hope its a good one. | melody9999
28/12/2012 23:40 | Melody "flowed at a rate of approximately 645 barrels of oil per day ("bopd") and 3.5 million standard cubic feet per day of gas through a choke of 10 millimetres" 6000 cubic feet of gas is approx 1 barrel of oil Therefore 3.5 million is just under 600 boepd Heat value not $s or profit of course. SJ | sailing john
28/12/2012 23:15 | Fancy a challenge and put your skills to the test!? Here are the oil stock competitions that sort out the boys/girls from the men/women! ;-) :-) Best regards and Happy & Exciting New Year..... fb | flyingbull
28/12/2012 23:03 | SJ - could you share your maths with me? I've not done that calc before. Stromboli - yes the spread is a drag.....I guess you just need to balance that against the increasing production (which is clear for all to see) when you come to a decision. This is certainly not a trading share but one to hold and sleep at night. I have GPK as a core holding in my SIPP and added some recently at 630p in my cash account. | melody9999
28/12/2012 12:10 | Bought in here this morning, with a view to a long-term hold :-) | saucepan
28/12/2012 08:57 | Well I have added a few - could only get 500 on line And I closed the spread a little for you S1 but sadly by increasing the bid! Melody - You forgot to include the small matter of the 500+ bpd equivalent gas production (if my maths is correct) that is pushing all that black stuff out through that tiny 10mm choke!! So another 8-9% potential production from a single well! SJ | sailing john
28/12/2012 08:43 | The wide spread puts me off each time I am tempted. From a long term perspective I agree that is foolish but each time I am about to press the button I realise I will start 5% down and change my mind. | stromboli1
28/12/2012 08:34 | And the market reaction is............... a £700 trade!!!! It will be interesting when the rest of the world takes note! But until then zzzz I like the well head pressure - that oil wants to come out! Happy New Year - SJ | sailing john
28/12/2012 08:25 | another 600 bopd goes into production - another 5% on top of their 12,000 bopd current production. this share gets cheaper and cheaper at current share price levels. | melody9999
18/12/2012 09:52 | Wasn't expecting to post again this year But somebody should record the small detail of LGIs investment in 20% of Colombian assets AND that they have extended their strategic alliance until 2015 Zero trades! One day the market will wake up and take note. Until then it's zzzzzzzzzzzzz SJ | sailing john
14/12/2012 13:02 | Wow!..... market gone bonkers for Geopark! One day perhaps but for now we have to content ourselves with a miserly £7k traded. Merry Christmas everyone - see you next year SJ | sailing john
14/12/2012 08:28 | Would be interesting to know the size of the field but production is substantial and so should add to the 60 mmboe P2 including allowing for production this year. | zengas
14/12/2012 08:28 | Yes good to see another decent addition. But as you say with a massive drill prog planned for 2013 plenty more to come. Nicely established as niche player in South America. SJ | sailing john
14/12/2012 08:21 | TUA 3 discovery at 1127 bopd. With a 45% interest a bit of simple Maths tells me this is adding another 500 bopd to the 12,000 GPK are achieving at present. So another 4%. Lets hope for similar with tua 2 4 5 and the other 40 odd wells that GPK have planned to drill in 2013. | melody9999
30/11/2012 16:43 | Somebody is keen on these; 50k @ 650! | tyler90
30/11/2012 16:05 | Well somebody has just parted with over £280k for some of these so he/she must be confident! | tyler90 |
