It is prudent to keep a decent cash balance to enhance our bargaining position in respect of a gas deal.

A special dividend in 2019 would be nice too, say 10p a share.

What will rerate the stock will be a deal over payments from Baghdad to Genel once the oil revenues start getting paid there as that will establish a solid income going forward and clarity of who will be responsible for the back payments owed. Until then its month to month with the KRG.

Issues are being resolved with the end of a flight ban being a biggie which I believe will happen over the next month.
Genel is so so cheap purely because of disagreements, these are now slowly being resolved which will feed into the genl share price What price Genel once conditions are as normal as they can be for this region of the world?
500p wouldn't be hard.

ah that explains the statement below

The KRG spokesman rejected that Erbil's monthly income was 544 billion dinars, saying neither Iraq nor the KRG oil sold at full Brent Crude prices.

"We do not know the source of this incorrect information with Abadi and how could he confirm them," Dizayee pondered.

I understand that the KRG have for a very long time , well before the referendum issues, been selling oil at a $5 discount to Brent.

Pesh is massive and imo will more than make up for Taq Taq

Good post Log, thanks.

Pesh could make up for a large part of taq taq decline if it's proven to be another Twake (even with a 25% share).

taq taq can be rejuvenated a bit, in December production was up, let's see if it continues.

Political instability was always present in Iraq, after the referendum it was a bit scary agreed but now it's normalised.

pangos the big fall was largely due to the reserves downgrade at Taq Taq and the political instability. The recent success at Pesh helps with the downgrade at Taq Taq but it is nowhere nearly makes up for it.

I agree though it is cheap and other positives are the extension of the debt a further 5 years plus repayment of past due receivables monthly on top of current oil sales.

Very strong support at 119. Someone tried to push it through and so far failed.

I just ignore the noise. I made a big mistake on GLEN. Bought it at 70p and the trolls were talking it down every day. Sold for a 20% profit. What a mistake

GENL in 2014 produced cash from operations USD 116m.
Then share price hovered between 11 - 6 pounds.

GENL produced cash from operations USD 116.9 FOR THE FIRST 6 MONTHS OF 2017.
So with oil price rising, Pesh added in the production and taq taq on the up again (albeit slightly) it would be prudent to guess USD 340m for the year.

So effectively 2017 will have double cash flow from operations than 2014 and a share price between 60p and 120p.

That is a 90% ish discount for double cash produced.

And don't forget the debt reduction.

One of the cheapest stocks in LSE or what?
