ERBIL - Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi on Tuesday warned Erbil that the central government will control Kurdistan Region's border "smoothly." Abadi called on the Kurdistan Region to retreat from the areas which were under the control of the Iraqi Baath regime in 2003."I call on the [Kurdistan] region to return to the borders of 2003," Abadi said."We will not wait forever and we will take action, and I call on the region to resolve the issue quickly," he warned.Abadi also welcomed Kurdistan Regional Government's reaction to the Supreme Court's interpretation of Article 1 of the Iraqi Constitution.The KRG satated on Tuesday that it respects the Iraqi Federal Supreme Court's interpretation of Article 1 of the constitution which says the constitution does not allow any portion of Iraq to secede."We believe that this decision must become a basis for starting an inclusive national dialogue between Erbil and Baghdad to resolve all disputes," the KRG said in the statement."We welcome the decision made by the KRG," Abadi said.Following the independence referendum held by KRG on September 25, Iraq, Iran and Turkey firmly opposed the vote and imposed multiple sanctions on the region. Baghdad also responded to the vote by a military operation on October 16 when the Iranian-backed militias took over Kurdistan Region's disputed territories.

ERBIL - Iraq's Oil Minister Jabbar al-Luaibi has announced a comprehensive plan to boost the oil production in Kirkuk oilfields after Iraqi forces and Iranian-backed militias overtook the area."The ministry will continue with its plans to develop the oilfields in Kirkuk so as to produce one million barrels of oil per day," Luaibi said while visiting K1 oilfield in Kirkuk Province on Tuesday.He said K1 and Havana oilfields, two of the main oilfields in northern Iraq, have sustained damages, and his administration works to repair them with no delay.BasNews previously reported that the Iraqi government is planning to divert the flow of Kirkuk oil exports to Iran as the province is now under the control of Shi'ite militias allied with Tehran.

Good morning hvs. Answer to your "question" is NO.

I am open to reasoned bull and bear arguments so I will give you a chance to present a bear case. Have read your posting history elsewhere and am resisting the temptation to just filter you straight away.

Actually GENL is generating an extremely large cash flows and has a very low MTBR (that means we are very undervalued).
Once our gas assets are developed we will be receiving income per annum from them alone far greater than our current market cap. Income will be in excess of £400m sterling from gas alone.
The issues impacting GENL are political. We shall just have to wait and see what happens. However, history indicates that the O & G will continue to flow and all the parties have an interest in supporting huge revenue streams.

Your bear case please.

hxxps://worldview.stratfor.com/situation-report/russia-iraq-rosneft-pays-kurdistan-13-billion-advance

Russian state oil company Rosneft has paid the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) a $1.3 billion advance for a production sharing deal, The Daily Star reported Nov. 14. On Oct. 19, Rosneft signed a contract to work on five oil production blocks in Iraqi Kurdistan. The Iraqi oil ministry criticized the deal, saying that only it or the Iraqi federal government can negotiate such agreements. Relations between Iraq and the KRG have been fraught since the Sept. 25 independence referendum.

Part of answer to the revenues issue is to get around the table and progress monetization of our gas assets.

'KRG expert committee ready to talk budget concerns with Baghdad '

By Rudaw 46 minutes ago

"The statement did not detail plans for a visit to Baghdad, but it hints that the KRG is making preparations for talks with the central government. If and when such a trip takes place, it will be the first public talks on a political level between the two capitals since Kurdistan’s independence vote. "

By referencing the constitution many times both Erbil and Baghdad have effectively recognised the 'red line' the border represents to KRG region; one that should not be crossed.

Its time for them to argue cash; the 12.6 and 17% issue.

Extract (first lines);

"ERBIL, Kurdistan Region — The Kurdish government in Erbil said on Tuesday that it respects a ruling by Iraq’s Federal Court that Iraq is a parliamentary and democratic republic with the constitution as the guarantor of its unity, saying it could become the basis for dialogue."
