You don't believe everything a poster writes on here do you Cyan :-)

I don't believe a word of what you write - I have noticed you around various bb's.

But POO WILL drop into the 30's. Genel WILL test the 70's again. Within two weeks.

Amazing !. A new poster turns up commenting on the best time to buy GENL after this incredible GKP post;

Oilman.

I have registered on this site to ask you a question. I am a long term holder of many years and an average of well in excess of 100p.

For the first time I am very concerned about my investment. Could I please ask for your current view of the situation?

Thank-you.

"For the first time I am very concerned about my investment".

You are in GKP that deep and it took you until March to get concerned!

Yup the price of oil rests with Putin. If he starts a proper war in Ukraine or agrees and actually cuts production. Either is possible.

Genel will be a good buy once POO has hit mid to high 30's in a couple of weeks time.

Good afternoon pogue.
Its difficult , in my view, to see a comprehensive and successful production agreement.
Yes. the Saudi's would like, actually NEED, a rise in POO but they are not in control.
They aggressively undercut POO in their failed attempt to destroy US shale.
They started the slide and now they can not arrest it.
The boots on the other foot now as their arch enemy , Iran , undercuts them.
Venezuela is in a desperate way so its no surprise they are flying all over the world seeking coordinated actions.
I wish them luck with the Russians who have a terrible record in 'honouring' production agreements, and anything else for that matter.
For near term sharp price action with POO ,i fear we have to look to the skies for another flock of 'black swans'
Maybe Mr Putin will blacken the skies.

Brent $47.33

I agree with you Cyan, I presume you agree with the link you posted its just OPEC talking up the market. Odd how GENL is not tracking the oil price though.

Good morning GRSL.
I do not read 'British bulls'. Not likely to after I saw a posting about them tipping ,not long before de-listing ,that POS & Chrisoil 'investment' ,Sefton Resources (SER).

Last time Brent traded at $47.25, GENL stood at 116.5p.

Expecting a positive start to the week on that basis alone.

I do not see £10 soon especially after the reserves downgrade. However, in 4 or 5 years we may see those gas fields adding serious value. The world is an uncertain place and one must expect the unexpected, but, i think £3-4 in 4 years should be easily achievable .

I note Brent has been rising very steadily over last few days; will start the week at $47.16

Someone doesn't buy £1.3 mln worth of shares at a near 80% premium for no reason.

Sentiment also drove this down along with the missed payments, oil price, oil glut, ISIL etc but Sentiment will also drive this up.......patience is the key here only 7 weeks to the end of September.

Yes but wasn't the fall due to reductions in reserves and wasn't the £10 start a tad high to begin with!!! I hope you right as that would be happy days

They've come down from 10....so a rise to 3/4 could be an easy retrace!

Do you really think that this can go up to 3-4 quid? Got 50000 of these so that would be some rise! Happy days

I'm going to revise my +75p comment.

$400m due /1.30 (exchage rate) is £307m. Divide this by shares in issue (249m) and you get 123p per share. At present, the market is questionning whether all of that would be paid, so attributing little value.

If the $400m was paid, it was also transform the risk premium for operating in Kurdistan and allow GENL to re-rate towards a conventionaly O&G valuation. Balance sheet is worth £2.5bn or c. £10 a share.

Immediate upside of c. 100p and then re-rate to north of 350/400p?

Time for a Pint!

I only just found it today, and haven't seen it posted anywhere before, it's been bugging me all week why someone would buy £1.3mln Genel shares at 178.1, maybe just maybe that's the reason.

@GRSL

That post is a month old now.

GENL owed $400m
GKP owed less than $100m

Would make a huge difference to the GENL share price were it to happen (my estimate + 75p) but I just can't see it, sadly.
