Have you thought about offering your services as an advisor? I'm sure they hadn't thought of asking for more money.

KRG: Genel can you do something for us?

Genel: Yes what's that?

KRG: Bend over.

Genel: Sure, glad to.

In freefall now. Tanking more than its peers.

GENEL need to demand a bigger percentage of oil revenues now. Tell KRG we ain't spending another penny in this god-forsaken hell hole until you pay what you owe us.

Tiddler compared to the majors, no one will bid for these, the big players just wait until they go under, then buy what's worth buying for pennies in the £ ..it's brutal out there, only the strong will survive, global recessions coming up too. Shareholders end up with nothing, which happens often.

So GENEL have ear-marked $100M capital expenditure, mostly Tawke and Taq Taq, for 2016. The KRG can't believe their luck because they still owe GENEL $370M!
Talk about gullable, the KRG must be laughing their heads off.

The demise of GKP is probably due to a multitude of factors such as the oil price and being over-geared but the KRG had a big hand in what happened to GKP. Shameful.

Cyan, I would agree.

Weak oil and I couldn't see anything to get too carried away with in the figures (in truth, nothing overtly worrying either).

Need to find a level and then rebuild. Will be watching out for broker notes now but can't see too much change in sentiment or price targets ither than marking the price of oil to market.

All things considered GENL has performed well this morning, so far. Brent is very weak at $43.33.
Here is the latest EIA report with lots to digest. The easiest to get a handle on are the crude stocks;

07/22/16 Week Year Crude oil 521.1m up 1.7m in the week ; which is 61.5m up on a year ago

Money!

extract;

Genel's net share of the payment is $13.70 million.

Good morning champnchip.
If you have bought in recently you have done well, imo . As for the higher prices GENL has seen; very good for those that bought and sold at the right times. I have no complaints as this is the one oiler I have done well out of. Plenty of other disasters to my name though! lol.

Brent $44.33

'Time to be very grateful you invested in GENL'

lol. genel have been on the downtrend skislope from the day it listed, save for a brief move to £11. I doubt any of their investors are grateful. (apart from sepil and the ones who got free shares.)

Good morning owencoffin.
GKP are in a right mess. They have had to give up 3 of their 4 blocks and Algeria is history.

Time to be very grateful you invested in GENL.

If only Brent would pick up a bit; now $44.42

they've lost 90% of their flotation price in five years. gkp floated at about 60p. so close enough.

GENL are in this region because of the huge reserves . Yes the politics have been difficult but there is hope. Basically the KRG were given an ultimatum regarding payments if they wanted drilling to continue and production to rise.

An agreement was completed which included addressing the huge outstanding debt owed to us.

There's big money to be made, in the future, from those gigantic gas reserves. There is not any 'comparison' to GKP , end of.
