04/1/2023 12:11 | Still yielding over 7% @ 125p though | return_of_the_apeman
04/1/2023 11:37 | What an opportunity that was 12 points lower down! | tiltonboy
04/1/2023 11:07 | You aren't alone in the senior moments ..smile ..good to see prefs still moving up | badtime
04/1/2023 09:50 | You're right, senior moment ,confusion between ex div date and pay date ! | par555
03/1/2023 21:08 | MRF, Yes agree. Makes a change to see one of these prefs go up in price the day after going ex div. Similar story with ELLA which also went ex div 1/1. So two nice divvies delivered by HL today ! | par555
03/1/2023 17:54 | Nice juicy payment arrived thanks AJ Bell. I assume a few holders will be reinvesting today. | my retirement fund
20/12/2022 13:55 | Aha! Thanks Flyer61, found it: | cassini
20/12/2022 13:49 | Yes BOJ messing about and UK Gilts have taken a bit of a hit.... | flyer61
20/12/2022 13:31 | Some event in the interest rate sphere happening today? It's not just GACA taking a hit. | cassini
20/12/2022 09:01 | Only on a bank holiday | my retirement fund
19/12/2022 16:34 | Have they ever skipped a divi? | lord gnome
19/12/2022 16:03 | Personally I prefer to avoid banks...they all trade at a slight yield premium for sound fundamental reasons. | skyship
19/12/2022 13:52 | STAC yields 7.46% (compared to STAB 7.18%) and possibly the best current opportunity along with BoI. | cousin jack
19/12/2022 10:43 | BOI (although not a pref) still yielding 8.0% and seems, not yet, to have taken part in the recent fixed interest recovery | stemis
19/12/2022 09:14 | Yields at offer prices: # AV.A 8.75% @ 126.0p-130.0p = 6.73% # AV.B 8.375% @ 119.35p-121.3p = 6.90% # GACA 8.875% @ 121.3p-122.5p = 7.24% # GACB 7.875% @ 111.0p-113.0p = 6.97% The Aviva prefs continue their recovery, with only GACA now offering a yield of above 7%. Expect further strength. | skyship
06/12/2022 17:23 | Thanks for the comments Skyship. Having recently bought GACA around 113p, with the shares now ex dividend I was pondering selling if I can get 120p and going fishing in another pond. But reading yours and others comments here, I'll hang on and see if further appreciation beyond 120p is in the frame. I agree that interest rates in the UK are likely to peak much nearer to between 4 and 5% than they are to peak between 6 and 7%. The shock of energy price inflation is working it's way through now and will be reflected in reduced inflation numbers soon. The full deflationary effect of what's happening in the economy and taxation is still yet to work through though. The bloke in the high street is likely to feel much worse off by February to May next year than he does today. And the economy will accordingly shrink as a result meaning a lower level of peak interest rates is likely. Good for press like GACA? Thanks again. | cruelladeville
06/12/2022 16:27 | Flyer - no, simply as I hold a full allocation of GACA, an overweight allocation of NBPS and a small allocation of 83NL (Severn Trent 6.125% loan 2024) - all-in-all a 30% allocation to Fixed Interest; and don't want to go any higher. Of that 30% - half is undated and half very short dated. | skyship
06/12/2022 16:13 | Is STAC on your radar SKYSHIP. My view is the same as yours along with the sponsors will look to tidy them up in due course at a fair offer. | flyer61
06/12/2022 16:06 | Adae - simplest to think of it as: # AV.A & GACA: Jun & Dec # AV.B & GACB: Mar & Sept | skyship
06/12/2022 15:58 | Need to account for how long until XD the next payment - GACA longest to wait I believe. 4-5% rates peak, possibly the lower end of that now. But what premium over Base for prefs? Longer rates may be more relevant. Will GB be higher for longer, not higher peak and fall. | adae
06/12/2022 15:24 | Yields at offer prices: # AV.A 8.75% @ 122.5p-124.95p = 7.00% # AV.B 8.375% @ 118.0p-119.39p = 7.01% # GACA 8.875% @ 119.0p-119.65p = 7.42% # GACB 7.875% @ 108.5p-110.0p = 7.16% AV.A & GACA just gone XD. As usual GACA looks to be best value. With the weakness of the $ taking the sting out of global inflation; the UK interest rate peak of 6%-7% now looking more like 4%-5%. Expect a continued recovery in all these prefs. | skyship
01/12/2022 09:26 | Yields at current ask prices AV.A 8.75% @ 122.82p = 7.12% AV.B 8.375% @ 117.4p = 7.13% GACA 8.875% @ 117.25p = 7.55% GACB 7.875% @ 108.49p = 7.26% | return_of_the_apeman
01/12/2022 08:20 | 117.6p to buy 116p to sell ex dividend. | my retirement fund
30/11/2022 08:34 | Would these have to trade at 122 after the divi to be on a par with the gacb shrs, if so there is some way to go even if they normally have a slight premium in yield | return_of_the_apeman |
